Is there a way to write for a grant, just to get yourself off on your feet? Not for a company, not for some volunteer project, but just for yourself?

I need some cash money, and a loan just doesn't seem the best way for me to go, right now. I've got a lot of bills, car note, car insurance, and trying to get a low-income apartment. I was just wondering what programs might be available.

There are some grant programs that come under the heading of "emergency financial need". In most (not all) cases you will have to "show" need which usually means that you will have to provide them with proof of your need.

While I do grant research and you should "never say never" you may be able to get help with bills like your utility bills and food thus leaving you money to be able to pay those bills like a car note and car insurance.

If you need money you should get a job or start a business. If you already have a job, maybe for the short-term another job is a good temporary solution. Also taking a hard look at your expenses is a good idea.

Grants are not made for personal expenses. The primary reason by far is for research projects.
