I just opened a Savings Money Market Account with USAA today. I just noticed that the account is not FDIC insured. When I was talking to my customer service rep he said that it will not "lose" money. How is that possible if it is not FDIC insured?
Any info is appreciated! Thanks!

Hi. I've read a number of bank sights about their retirement packages. However, are there any unbiased resources out there that explain what a traditional IRA offers and what a Roth IRA offers? Any websites out there? Any pointers?

So I bought an item for $30 US, as a total cost and shipping. Except I use canadian currency, do I send money in my paypal account of $30 and change the option to US? or find out what $30 US is in Canadian and send money in canadian, but would'nt that just give the seller canadian currency?

Im new at this. I know send money on paypal, but what happens if I click the pay now button on the ebay site? He's given me an email to send the payment, would'nt that just mean "send money"?

Further to my question on house repossesion, The house was owned by me and my ex husband and i understand that we are liable for the debt, so can anyone explain why the debt agency have insisted on taking my ex husbands new wifes wages into conscideration when they where working out what he could repay.
Surely the debt belongs to us and she shouldnt be made to pay for our debt. It just doesnt seem fair.
Any help would be appreciated. and many thanks to the people that replyed to my initial question on house repossesion.. You were all very helpful.

I am a temporary contract worker at a summer day camp. In this job I only get one lump sum paycheck at the end of the two months. Unfortunately I was sick one day about 4 weeks before the end of my contact and was told that the payroll was already submitted and my paycheck will now be held an extra 3 weeks becase they have to dock my pay.
Is this legal ?
what should I do ? I need the money to pay for tuition and I couldn't help it that I got sick , I'm only human !

Okay.. long story short :) Does anyone know of any free budgeting programs that me and my husband could use to get our money on track?
We, like everyone..., don't know where the hell our money goes every week. And we try to keep track of it, but you know.. a dollar here... a dollar there... it goes way to fast!!!!

So... we need to figure out how to take every paycheck, and put money aside for each bill... so then when it is due, we can actually pay it, instead of taking it out of the check my husband gets and trying to live off of $40 a week!!!!

Any suggestions or anything from anyone would be awesome!!!!!

I was talking to my friend about a particularly bad time I was going through with money. I couldn't afford a house payment so he offered to let me borrow $1600.00. I accepted. This was in December.

I was going through a divorce and he had a crush on me. I care about him too but then I wanted to work on my relationship with my ex so I got back with him. I kind of let the money slide and didn't pay him back at all.

I didn't tell my husband about this. He emails me in August and told me that I need to pay him back because its ruining our friendship. He said I was taking advantage of him. I got really offended and told him to never talk to me again. I felt like he was taking stabs at my character as a person.

I sent him $50.00 and he sent me back the check ripped up. He said money isn't worth losing a friendship over. Am I being a jerk?

It seems like they would have more of a motive to finance someone a car since they'd make even more money, so are they more willing to finance to someone with not so great credit (a score of 680)?

I have been at this company for two years. The first year I received a raise of $1.00. This year I was expecting at least that, since I have been taking on other duties, but I only received 0.75, which is still a good raise (7.5%). My concern is that if I received $1.00 last year and this year I received less, should I question why the drop? Should I ask my boss if I am not doing as good a job? or should I just be happy with that and move on?

In this particular case there were two original lenders. My solicitors (M&Y) and my company (MF). A bank agreed to advance funds to the borrower specifically to remove the MF loan, however, M&Y chose to use the funds to reduce their loan. The bank have claimed that they are subrogated to M&Y (as this suites their purpose) however, I now have evidence that it was the banks intention that their money was provided to repay the MF loan. Would you be willing to enter into an exchange of emails? Many thanks!

I don't know the exact wage yet, so your guess is as good as mine.

When I was in High School my mom set me up with a debit card with a checkings and savings account. I have now graduated from college and I'm beginning to make my own money. My mom still has access to the card a messes with it and I only want to be the one with access to my money. Is there a way of transferring the money to another card? Even if my mom was the one who set it up.

I know some people are going to say "just ask your mom about it". But, I already have and she wont let me. I'm an adult now and I want to be able to manage my own money. My mom doesn't get that... What can I do??
