If you are a minor, yes. I believe the only thing they don't have access to is medical records after you turn 14. However, actually opening mail not addressed to them is a felony offense. But, once it is opened, they can read it. Anything you leave in the house can be viewed by them.

No, legally they have no right to intercept your mail .Bank accounts are often opened by parents but once you have signed your part of the paperwork they are under your jurisdiction.I think there is a a legal age limit .

I am going to say yes to this one. I am a parent. I am responsible for my child until he/she turns 18. That means if they commit a crime.. I am still liable for responsibility for them becasue they are in my custody. It depends why are you upset with them for looking? Are they demanding money... DO you owe them money.. and tell them you havent been able to pay it back.... ??
I my house.. and I dont know if this is the law.. but if it looks suspicious.. or I need to know.. I am going to open it... My house.. My rules... When your an adult.. and have your own house.. then you get your own mail.. Kids these days think that everything is a RIGHT to them.. they dont learn the lessons of hard work, respect, and doing the right thing.... They are just worried .. is someone in thier business....
Sheesh

over here in America it is.

since we inherited many of our laws from Britain, I assume the same holds in the UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, NZ, India, South Africa, and likely HK and Singapore -- and myabe more places I haven't thought of yet [Kenya?]

of course, you could google your nation's post laws and find out for sure.
