I am trying to clean up my credit. I am not familiar with all the credit jargin but here is my question that I need real answers too b/c I can not contact an actual Experian rep and the creditors I speak with fill my head with a bunch of lies so I just want the truth. Ok here is where I am at I have recently disputed items and some of which show that they are on record until Mid 2008 (statuet of Limitations? ) when I spoke with some one I was told that after that date those debts would be removed from my credit history and then I am told that they are still there but I just cant be sued again so which is the truth is it removed or not. Also I have been told that just by contacting them it can start my time all over again which I hope is not true considering I called them before knowing this. Last question I have is some of my debts that I plan to pay are by the same collections agency if I begin to pay on them would it bring those old debts that are soon to be removed back to a beginin

my husband and i have around $5000 in medical bills that we would like to pay off. they are all with the same collection agency. would it be better if to deal directly with the collection agency or go thrugh a debt consolidation compay? i contacted a debt conslidation agency in my area and they informed me that even if the debt is paid it still stays on your record for seven years. if i deal with the collection agency is it possible to have them remove items as they are paid off? any advice on this would help greatly. thanks.

Two lenders are telling me it will be the BEST thing i ever did for myself. I have 3 bad debts and a FICO of 551.

Why am I going to pay THREE TIMES over in interest to "make these go away" and put my house as collateral....changing an unsecured debt to a huge secured one? Seems like a no brainer....

Why do so many people do it? Am I missing a key benefit?

Okay here is his problem. When he was in high school (18 years old), his father got a credit card in his name. My friend, having trust in his father, signed for the card because his dad had bad credit and could not get a card in his name. Well fast-forward to now, his dad max the card out and because the card was in my friends name, my friend owes collection $11,000 in past due payments and interest. Because my friend lives three states away from his father, he had no idea this was going on (the card and its information is in his fathers hand). Now my friend really needs to get a loan for school and a car to go to work. The problem is, every loan he tries to get, it denies him because his credit is basically screwed due to his father. At this point what can I advice him to do?

Ok I have been told that you can contact the credit agency and make an arrangement where you pay the bill and in return have them take it off your report all together not just seen as paid is there any truth to this and if so how do I go about doing it do I contact the actual company of debt, the credit collection agency, or the 3 credit bureaus and I have also been told to ask for it in writting before I even start to pay on it is that true as well I really want to get this credit crap cleared already please help
P.S. I have recently disputed all my creedit reports and one was actually removed (so cool!!!) iif you know any other tricks to either remove items all together or have them reduced please feel free to mention them and again thanks

Certain credit cards like Miles (Discover), No hassle miles (CapitalOne) offer miles earned as rewards. Does this means we can travel that much miles we earned or is it a different calculation.

Hello, I have 16000$ in credit card bills. I transfer 75% of it to other credit cards with lower interest rates and will save my self a few hundred dollars for like a year. Is there a downfall to this credit wise???
My old interest rate was 24% and my new rat is 3%

2. I transfer balance from all my bills in to 6 low rate credit cards. Is this a bad thing? Will i be paying more in the long run? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I just got a letter in the mail from a subrogation service stating I owe them like $2,000 for a car accident I was in back in January. I had insurance at the time and I called the "recovery specialist" and she told me the police report says I did not have insurance on it when I am looking at it right now and it clearly states that I did. I am 21 and I only make like 16,000 a year it would take me forever to pay this. Anyways I was wondering if anyone knows if I just avoid it and do not pay it will it ruin my credit? I refuse to pay for something when I was paying for insurance.

Hello,

I am 27 years old and I'm trying to resolve some bad credit issues. I accrued about $7000 of debt (now about $12000 with finance charges) in college, which now, 5 years later, has all gone to collections and/or has been charged off.

After college I didn't have a job and stopped paying my cc's. When I finally got a job it was paying $10 an hour and I couldn't afford to pay what had then become the minimum payment, sending most of my accounts to collections.

I've paid off the accounts under $1000 so far on my credit report, including chargeoffs. Was paying the chargeoffs a good idea? I hear it's pretty much useless paying them off once an account has been charged off. Recently I also had an account go to the National Arbitration Forum. SCARY!

I have 3 other good-standing credit card accounts (all with a low balance for people with bad credit because I have a 558 credit score). The only things left are 3 chargeoff accounts which are over $1000 each. What should I do?
