How do you get something off your credit report?

Ok I have been told that you can contact the credit agency and make an arrangement where you pay the bill and in return have them take it off your report all together not just seen as paid is there any truth to this and if so how do I go about doing it do I contact the actual company of debt, the credit collection agency, or the 3 credit bureaus and I have also been told to ask for it in writting before I even start to pay on it is that true as well I really want to get this credit crap cleared already please help
P.S. I have recently disputed all my creedit reports and one was actually removed (so cool!!!) iif you know any other tricks to either remove items all together or have them reduced please feel free to mention them and again thanks

You contact the creditor or collection agency who currently owns the debt. Make settlement arrangements. You can ask them to remove the item in exchange for full payment. Some will agree and some won't. Get any settlement agreement in writing before you pay and don't give them access to your bank account.

Work on the newest default and work back to the oldest. The older the debt, the less impact on your score.

no, after it is paid it can still remain on your report for seven years when old debt "falls off" your reports. All you can
do is try. Anything older than 7 years you can ask to have
removed

You can get them to agree for a "pay for deletion". Also dispute any negatives online, use the "no knoweledge of acct." If they dont respond back to the bureau in 30 days they delete it from your report. It is pretty effective..
