If I have 10,000 in available credit and my income doubles how does this effect my hypothetical "credit limit".

I applied for a car loan and was told MY information was INACCURATE according to the information on my credit report. The dealer gave me the internet address to get a free copy of my report and again, the site would not let me see the report, it stated that the information I provided was INACCURATE. I know I didn't lie and I have never had a loan so after I receive the copy of my credit report through the old fashioned mail route, how do I get the INACCURATE information off. I was told by friends that once it is on there there is nothing that can be done. BTW I did a people search on myself and found someone nearby using my name (with 11 other aliases) What's the next step and how do I resolve my credit report?

My auto-insurance agent who is a moron did this:

I asked him for a policy for two months. He instead made the policy for 4 months and made the money as a charge for two of them. Now I have recieved a bill for the remaining two months. Does that mean that I made a partial payment
and therefore not a good guy (credit wise) ?

My spouse and I own one home, which we are renting
We are purchasing a second home
My income, alone, should be able to qualify for the loan
My spouse is temporarily between jobs, due to relocation
Our credit scores are both in the 700 range, with hers slightly higher
We have approximately in 30K in bad debt (auto/credit card), most of which is under my SS#, though we could move some over to hers

A low score causes someone in difficulty to have even more problems with higher interest rates, higher insurance rates, maybe a job denied or an apartment denied, and this is another way people get kicked when they are down. Studies that show a low score predicts future credit problems ignore the fact that the low score make it a self-fullfilling prophesy. What do you think?

Because I sure didn't and learned the "hard" way...Please let me know if you knew this or not. I am feeling kinda stupid right about now, because I didn't. (Article quote attached.)

"As a FYI to readers, most auto dealers & auto loan lenders use what's called an "auto industry option" of the normal credit score. For Equifax, their latest model is called the Beacon 5.0 Auto. The auto credit scores pay particular attention to past credit performance on auto loans, supposedly with a higher weight given to installment loans. That is why, for example, if you have a poor revolving (credit card) history, but you have never been late on an installment loan (auto loan, mortgage, student loan), your Beacon 5.0 Auto score may be considerably higher than a normal Beacon. As far as I know, the auto scores are not available to the public. That may be why, when car/truck shopping, your score is different than what you may have pulled up on the internet. Hope that helps."

I had a terrible experience with a bank that gives credit cards to people with poor credit, and I'd like to be able to warn other consumers not to be pulled in by their scams. What websites are easy to access for consumer reports? I'm looking for something that doesn't charge a fee, if possible, and will reach as many people as possible.

I received a courts summons on my door today (but it's date 7/12/07) from a debt collector on a 4 year old account; I was freshman year in college. It was a credit card with a 600 DOLLAR credit limit now they want 1500.
I actually paid about half that although I have no prove. The original company stopped sending me bills, their contact number didn't work, and I have moved about 4 times since then. There's no way I could have got in touch with the company. There's also lots of other complaints on the internet about the original company

Any help towards would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I've heard countless stories about people who've had large sums pulled from their accounts due to debt owed. Do bank allow this? Is there some sort of court proceeding before this happens that you're aware of or is this all done behind your back.

I'm wondering if it's safe to get a checking account and actually put money into it if I owe, or have things in collection.

I live in Iowa. I haven't heard from this company for over 8 years, then all of a sudden, here they are serving me for a debtors examination. This is for a car I let go back in 1996. The bad thing is, my husband and I just closed on our new home today. What will they do if the judge lets them renew? I make average below median income wages and just have the house as an asset. My husband doesn't make a lot of money either. In iowa they cannot put a lien on the house if it is homesteaded which is good. I would love to be able to go to court and somehow get this judgement over with. I have been in debtor hell for 10 years because of this thing and have never had anything because I knew I couldn't get anything. I just want to live a good life. If they renew it, I will be 56 years old before I will ever be able to experience credit freedom. Any suggestions? I did try and contact them for a payment arrangement but they didn't respond. Thanks!
