There is no statute of limitations (SOL) for debt collection. They can follow you to the grave. The SOL is an affirmative defense if they take you to court.

The SOL for open accounts is 6 years and written accounts is 10. While credit cards are defined as open, many collection agents have been successful in convincing judges that they are written.
