Hi, about 6 months ago I applied for my first credit card and got approved. I made payments on time and never went over the limit. After about 3 months they increased my credit limit. But all of a sudden I lost my job because they had to move to another state. I started using my credit card to pay for bills after finishing everything from my savings account.

Im only $10 away from my credit limit and stopped using it since I dont want to go over. Would this still give me bad credit since im so close to my limit?

My son was hospitalized in 05 and the bills were sent to the ins. co. with me (his mother) as the pt. My ins. co started to pay but then received bills in my sons name. There were many double billing errs. After some time, this mess was rectifyed. My ins. company paid the allowed amts on all hospital and doctor bills and we paid our co-pay.

Time passed, about 8 months, when my son got a call from a collection agent stating he owed more money. When we attempted to get a copy of the billing statement the MD office stated that it had been sent to collection; we should contact them. We have made numerous calls and are always put on hold for an extended perior of time or sent to a full voice mail box. We would pay the amt. if we only knew what we were paying. What recourse do we have? Chris

I have depleted my savings that has supplimented my meager 600 a month take home pay. I have payed my cards for years with no problems but my life turned around completely a year ago and I have been going downhill since then. I can still pay a couple of my cards for a few months but I must save what little I have left in the bank to avoid homeless for aleast a few more months, then I don't know what is going to happen. I have nothing of value, no car, no fancy electronics (have a 50 dollar tv) and no property. I live in the cheapest place I can although it's dangerous. I walk to work and ride home with a coworker , which means I have to stay an extra hour off the clock till they get off work. I work retail and don't have a regular schedule but I do work every weekend and some evenings and most other jobs I've checked out won't even consider you if you won't work those hours but I already do that at my other job. What can they do to me and how long does it take to be over?

I have already tried Orchard, Premier and they are asking for $200.00 for account set up and monthly maintenance fees which is outrageous, yes my credit is fairly bad. However, I have never filed for bankruptcy.

A friend filed bankruptcy 5 years ago but reaffirmed on her car. The transmission fell out last summer. Is there a way to get out of paying for it since it is worth way less than she owes on it.

I live in Arkansas and have recently lost my job and my husband and I are getting divorced. We have 1 child. We have a very large credit card debt load (30,000.00) that is all in my name. Our home is in both our names and we have a 29,000.00 home equity loan that we got back in Sept 06 so we do not have any equity left in our house. We are trying to sell the house right now but I am not sure if it will sell to pay off the mortgage and home equity loan. I am considering bankruptcy and talked with an attorney through a free consultation and I would qualify for Chapter 7 where it would wipe all my debt away. I know this is the worst thing I can do for my credit but it may be my only option. I do not want it to affect my husband's (soon to be ex) credit so that he will be able to get things in case our son needs something. Would it affect him with his name being on the house or could I even file bankruptcy on the house too? Any information would be greatly apprecitated.

Hi, Im 19 years old and its very important that I start establishing a credit history. My parents are no help since my "step dad" isnt willing to help because Im not his real kid and my mom wants me to be independent. So far I have my own car and pay for all my bills (cell phone, internet, etc.) But its really important that I start to build up my own credit history partly because I want to move out soon.

Im not being approved for a credit card since most of there reasons are LIMITED CREDIT HISTORY, please help.

any suggestions would be great.
