I closed my bank account after my bankruptcy and now I need to get a new checking account for bills. I had 2 things from my last bank account dropped due to the bankruptcy but know they put it in check system for non payment and I can't open any new accounts. From the info I got it can be on for up to 5 year, just want to know if that is legal for them to do that since it was discharged through my bankruptcy and does anyone know of a bank that would allow me to open up a new checking account? I need an account where I get real checks to right, not the electronic checking kind. Thanks for our help!

I am 20 years old and I have a score of 678 on transunion, 672 on experian, and 622 on equifax (im not sure why equifax is so low because all my reports are identical??) I have a good amount of credit for someone my age because I have had multiple credit cards with no late payments and low balances since i was 18 and have already bought and paid one car loan in full with no late payments.

I currently have a car loan now and need a second car for my fiancee. I owe for nothing but this one car, how difficult would it be for me to finance a second vehicle? I make nearly 2700 a month and the car payment i have currently is 398 a month.

Thanks for the help in advance!

I really want to work on paying off my school loans but don't know where to start. I've been in default for a couple years due to my immaturity and now am trying to improve my credit. I've raised my credit score 43 pts in 4 months just by having one credit card and paying it off on time. What do I need to do to get the ball rolling and start paying on my loans? I could pay maybe 100 dollars a month right now.

I left my debit card in my purse in our apartment. Before I even knew it was gone, my roomate hands it to me and explains that she "borrowed" it to get a Blockbuster Rental pass. In order to get the rental pass, you have to have a credit or debit card on file. Nothing was charged to my account because she paid cash, but if she dosn't pay the monthly fee, they will charge my debit card. Given her history of not paying bills, I don't want my card associated with anything she owes. I tried to get her to remove my card number from her account and she refused. I tried blockbuster, the manager said there was nothing they could do unless she put another card number on file, or I had proof that it was stolen. He said that there was a signature on file, so I know she ran it like a credit card so she wouldn't have to know my pin. What can I do? If I go to my bank and explain will they stop charges from blockbuster to my account?

My friends husband died leaving her three kids and over $100,000.00 in credit card debt. She has been trying to pay but now is getting threatened with them taking her house. She make just a little over minimum wage on a part time basis and the depression is starting to drag her down.

my husband and I are going to lose one of our houses due to a bad market. I thought it was quick deed, but apparently it is quitclaim deed...anyway, if I do that will that protect my credit scores, or will the hit still go on my credit as well?

I recently received my credit dispute results and it wasn't found in my favor. I know I became delinquent on a Household Bank Visa account in July 1999 and I never made another payment after that. I didn't mean to default but I had problems that couldn't be avoided and it resulted in financial difficulty. The strange thing is, the original creditor was taken off my Experian report but the collection agency that is trying to collect for Household Bank is scheduled to remain until July 2007. Isn't this a violation of the FCRA to extend the reporting period? How could this collection agency verify the account as accurate? I've never contacted the collection agency and they haven't contacted me. I just want to what are my options.

Had a car reposed in 10/2002 – exactly 4 years ago. Owed $6K. the original creditor sold the account – claimed I owed $0 – but my credit has been shot – and will be for the next 3 years.

Last month, a collection agency got a hold of this account, and is claiming that I owe them the $6K, when I know they paid next to nothing for this account. HELP! My credit has been getting much better in the last 3 years – and altogether – I owe $3500 in student loans. Learned my lesson, live within my means, have little credit cards with little balances.

I sent a letter to the credit bureaus and told them that this is not new, but an old claim disguised as something new. Can they do this? And will my credit report keep this new information on? I really thought that this was going to fall off in 3 years – so not only have they re-aged the debt, but they must have paid $0.02 per dollar owed - which is crazy.

Has anyone ever gone through this? what happened?

If someone has a credit limit of 3000.00 – how much of that can they use, all of it? Like for example if someone has a $3000.00 credit limit and they want to purchase something for like 2890.00 can they, or can they only use some of it. I don’t understand how that works.

Thank you!

a couple of the accounts anymore, but does it look bad if accounts are opened and closed too quickly? Should I just keep all of them open for awhile, would that be better? Or does it not matter either way. Please help thanks so much
