The best credit card for a 19 yr old is the kind that you don't get. At 19 with an income of $800, a credit card could ruin your credit. The best credit card is none. Sorry, but you don't make enough to even qualify. Your minimum income has to be $1500. And think about it, if you buy something with a credit card, can you afford to pay the bill. Every month.

There are plenty of credit card companies and they provide different credit cards for the different credit types.

The best cards in the U.S. are:
1.City Thank You Rewards
2.American Express
3.Capital One Perfect Card
4.Discover Platinum Gas Rewards Card
5.Chase Perfect Platinum Visa Card

These all credit cards are available for the individual with the perfect credit and the sound payment history.

Now you are 19 years old so you dont have much credit history so please do not apply for these cards. You earn $800 per month so you should start the Secured Credit card with either Bank Of America or the Capital One. With starting spending limit of $500 and then after 1 year they will unsecured the card and according to your payment history may be they will increase your credit line.
This is the best available option for the New individual@credit.

It sounds like you do not have a credit card yet. Do you have a credit history? If you do not, then you would probably have to start off with a secured credit card.

If you are a student, you should get offers from most of the major credit card issuers. Get a college student credit card if you are a college student because most do not have annual fees.

If you are not a student, and you have not got a credit card and have very little credit history, then it looks like a secured credit card is the best place to start.

Pay your bills on time, build a credit history and you will be able to get better cards in the future.

It really depends on your definition of the best card. And it really depends on your needs. Here is a site that you can go to check the differences and advantages/disadvantages to particular banks. http://www.creditcards.com/

I believe that Capital One has some of the highest standards next to the Dinners Club Card which I don't believe that you would qualify for without knowing anything more.

I had read an article put out be Fair Isaac Corporation about six months ago stating unquote, that using HSBC can have a negative effect on your ability to secure credit in the future.

Without knowing what your current situation as to your current credit situation and more about yourself I'm unable to give you my opinion as to the best card that would suit you. However, without knowing anything, if you belong to a Credit Union or are eligible to belong to one through work or other means I would recommend that. They USUALLY have the best rates and programs for someone new to acquiring credit.

I hope that some of the this information will help you. Please let me know if this was any help to you!

There's no single answer to this question because the best card or set of cards depends on your spending profile. Let me explain...

The best way to use credit cards is to use them like cash and pay off the balance every month. If you do that, then there are many rewards to be had from funnelling your spending through cash back credit cards.

The cash back reward you can earn from credit cards depends on your particular spending profile -- especially how much you spend in various categories (e.g. gas, grocery, restaurants, utilities, etc.)

To better understand this, you can use the free calculator tool at
"Credit Card Tune-Up: Maximize Your Cash Back Rewards" ( http://www.creditcardtuneup.com/... ). It makes choosing the best cash back card (or mix of cards) pretty easy. Given your spending pattern, it calculates your expected annual rewards for each of the leading cash back credit cards and even for your best mixes of cards.

Visa is the best . If you only bring in 800 a month do not use the card! Only for emergencies! If you know you will be tempted don't get one! Bad news! Honestly

Go to bankrate.com and click on credit cards. You will find a list of credit card options that you can study to find the best fit. Keep in mind that when you apply, the credit card company will give you the options they believe best fit your situation and credit history.
