I cant afford my monthly payment and am behind $1600.00. My dealership says they can get me a car loan on a less expensive used car with a co-signer and then to have my current vehicle repossessed. They said once I start making regular payments on the new auto loan, then my credit will bounce right back beyond the repo. Is this true? Is this something I should look into doing or is it a dumb idea? My current vehicle is a 2005 Dodge Neon and they dont make them anymore so the trade in value (even with my car in perfect condtion) is only 1/2 of what I still owe on it. What are your thoughts? Serious answers only please. Also if you have had this happen to you, please tell me your story. Thanks!!

ok, you just obtained a copy of your 3 credit reports and find information on it that belongs to your relative (Your 1st cousin) who you have never lived with and are somewhat close too; the information you find is like their address and some fraudgligent debts which you know are not yours... Also, you dispute it and it is then removed; how would you handle it.. Need your input..

about identity theft. i just don't understand how people get away with it. say someone opened a credit account using someone else's info and made a bunch of purchases online with it...wouldn't they just get caught by the shipping address?

Does having your name on the lease of an apartment in good standing help your credit? If so why isn't it listed on a credit report? Is this also the case of having a cell phone in good standing in your name?

I am trying to get a personal loan through my credit union. I have bad credit due to immature decisions when I was younger. I now pay my bills on time and am capable of paying back a loan. Do you think I have a better chance of getting the loan if I have collateral and a co-signer?

I'm both upset and confused.
My credit score isn't bad.
I've not lost a days work in 8 years.
I'm pensioned from the military.
I own my own home.
I can't find anything on my credit report that's negative.
My income is good and I'm not that far in debt.
My bills are all paid on time.
I still get refused for obtaining a credit card and all I want it for is for emergencies; renting cars; travel; and hotels as needed. - Use it then pay it off.
My last application showed you only needed a yearly income of $15000 a year and I still got refused. I just don't get it!

I just received a letter in the mail from a debt collector, stating that the creditor has agreed to accept 60% of the balance due, as a lump sum settlement. I have a funny feeling that taking this option, as opposed to just paying the entire amount, is going to have a negative impact on my credit report. I'd rather have my credit 'clean', than make a dumb mistake by paying the smaller amount. We're not talking about a great deal of money, I just want it over with, either way.

Regarding credit, what is actually required to obtain an FHA loan? My husband had an auto repossession that was making it difficult for us to get an FHA loan, but he just got it paid off this week. Now our broker is telling us that FHA won't accept any open collections on his credit record. Does that make any sense to you at all?? Isn't FHA first time home buyer programs for people with low income or poor credit??

A job that I was offered will run a credit check & I have a loan from 1997 , a different credit union that was never paid. When I told the interviewer that I had a very low credit score she said thats okay we dont look at the score, we look for defaults & judgements. On my credit report the loan shows that it was paid for a while then payments were stop, it shows no defaults or judgements.Do you think I am ok? Please help, serious answers only!! I am desperate.

I was looking on a prepaid web site and it interested me, so i went forward to apply online. i was going through the step-by-step guide sorta thing and at the very end it said there were charges. a charge for the card and a monthly fee and something else. see, normanlly i look at the faq's, but there wasnt any (well if there were, then it must have been really, really small print). anyways, during the step by step application form, it said something about ID, it asked for either a driving licence or a passport(which i dont have), so on the form i ticked none. in the last step(where it told me about the charges). it said they will be writing to me and i will have to send ID. See i dont want to go through with it cos of the charges(would have know if i could have seen them faq's). if i dont send ID does that mean the account wont open, like just ignore. what should i do or what can i do ?????

I have been dealing with Chase for years. First it was Onbank. The creditor closed my account years ago. Unfortuanetly I ran into hard times, I was left a single Mom with small children to raise. I have been late once this past year. The interest rate is now 29.9 percent. The total of all my original purchases were approx $5,000.00 I have paid the sharks approx $11,000. Somehow I still owe them $3,334.. How can they charge me late charges at this point anyway? I haven't made a purchase in over 6 years isn't that an oxymoron any paymnet at this point is late. I live in NY and the Chase is in Delaware (Sharkcity). It would seem to me that I have more than paid them off. I don't see how they cann keep changing the interest rate on a closed account. Any information is greatluy apprecaited. Thanks!
