I'm finding it impossible to get approval for a student loan because I previously declared bankruptcy. I can easily get approved for a car loan, but not for my education. Anyone with ideas or information about this situation please respond. I have to pay for nursing school by August 1st!

I've been looking for answers on here and have only found tidbits of what I need to know. Here is the full story:

I missed my June credit card payments (on all 3 of my cards) and will also have to skip July's. I will be able to pay what I owe come August, so I won't have missed more than 2 consecutive payments on each card. It's been a rough summer for me but I will definitely be paying what I owe in another month...but not without having skipped out on 2 payments first.

I know that means my APR is going to go through the roof on all three cards. I've accepted the fact that that is the heavy price I'll have to pay for my mistakes these 2 months. I'm already receiving phone calls but I'm not bothering to answer because I can't even pay til August 10th anyway.

My question is: Aside from the fact that my APR is going to go up and they will be calling me for another month, should I expect any other problems? Or can I really go 2 months and then just catch myself up on what I owe?

Why can't we wait until we can actually afford something before we use the plastic money to buy it? Some people can pay off their credit cards every month but most just build up a huge amount of debt and cause stress on their lives.

I am thinking about filing for bankruptcy, but I have no idea where to start- I know i cant erase everything from my credit, but what is included/discluded when you file? Is it all from the past- like things that went to collections, or do they look at what you owe now and take that off too? I am trying to build up my credit score with things such as paying my car note on time, but it seems i am getting further and further into debt. any help would be greatly appreciated!

I checked my credit online at lending tree and my score was 625. The site recomended I get a credit card and make small purchases and pay them back in a timely manner. I know there are alot of easy credit ripoffs out there. What do I look for to avoid getting bled dry with interest rates and annual fees? What would a reasonable rate be?

Does anyone know of any lenders that will finance someone with past bad credit to make his dream come true???? thank you!!!! He isn't spoiled, he doesn't have "everything" and I think with his behavior, etc, that he deserves this.

The company I had the account with was taken over by another company. I have sent numerous requests to be reimbursed the overpayment, with no results other than more monthly statements. Can make no connection to a live person by phone and there is no automated option for reimbursement. Its easy enough to throw the statements in the garbage each month, but it is costing this company more than 2X what they owe me, just to tell me each month that they owe me. It's just an insult to any good business mind.

A person loses a job through no fault of their own, and for the next year or so unfortunately can't find a new job no matter what they've done (and even though they have a college degree), as a result they run out of money and file bankruptcy.

Then they go to another interview and are rejected yet again, only this time because of their credit report, what can they do?

I know that identity theft victims and their resulting bad credit report is an exception and they will still be considered for the job.

But what about if the reason a person lost their last job was because of discrimination and wrongful termination, and that job loss put them back on a job search that should never have happened, because they should never have been discriminated against and wrongfully terminated?

If that person's credit was pretty good up until shortly after that incident, shouldn't they also be given an exception and be given another chance at the new job they applied for?
