The new job will pay $25k/yr more than I am making now and I would be a pretty high level in a very large company in the transportation industry. I am very excited about the big salary boost and chance to work for a good company, but am concerned that if a recession hits and they need to lay off people, I will be the first to go since I am the newest one on, and this is a newly created position just for me.

What do you think? Would you be concerned about taking the job?

I'm a co ordinator & he's my shift manager. He is not running the shift effectively but as the co ordinator it's my responsibility to pick up the pieces. When I try to make decisions, he overrides them (not all the time). When I ask someone to do something & they don't feel like doing it, they go to him with a lame excuse & he overturns my requests, which makes me look a real mug. Basically, he's a nice guy but he's too nice, spineless even. He is more interested in making people like him than making the team work properly. He isn't there to make friends when all's said & done. I have told him I want to speak to him on Monday. What should I say?

Okay, I know this is really personal but my sister is wanting to go to school to become a Medical Assistant I wanted to know, how much do they really make per hour? Please be honest and also include your city/state and whether you work in a hospital or in a private practice. Thank you so much!

I had an interview with a great company earlier this week. They are in a different city about 120 miles away from where I currently live, so if things come to fruition, there are lots of things to consider. I took a day off eariler this week to go, and they now want me to come back early next week, taking another day off. I work in a very small office and this could raise red flags, but I am interested in the position, if the money is right.

I know in normal interview process, it's not appropreiate to ask about salary until they bring it up, but given the sitation, I really want to ask because if they can't match what I'm asking for, I don't want to stress out about leaving work again and don't want to waste anyone's time.

Would this be appropreiate?

All, This is a real important question and i really hope that you can answer it.

I was recently terminated from my job.

Reason being is that i was involved in some legal issues that involved the police to come up to where i work and pick me up and take me in for some questioning.

I was suspended for the past month and now they finally decide to terminate me.

Legally...can they do that?

Note: This is in the state of Kentucky

Also, I have not been charged with any crime what so ever

I am single with a golden retriever and I'm considering relocating from Central PA. I would appreciate anyone's input as to their local job market (perhaps where the employment rate is higher than average).

Thank you!

I know some people get off serving and pleasing people but damn, now there is a difference between an administrator and a secretary….see example:

Administrator = you have a job and don’t rely on anyone and have peace and quiet

Secretary = you are someones *****, you run errand for the manager, even sometimes making coffee, printing copies for him when he has a printer right next to him unless you are secretary of STATE!

I was fired recently. Canned, outsourced, dumped, told to clear out, sent packing, (you get the idea!)

Anyway, I did not leave a happy camper. They told me to clear out and gave me 5 minutes to get my stuff together. After that I was walked out by a security guard and handed my last paycheck.

I got a job offer yesterday but I am not to excited about the boss and the company. But it is in my field and pays about what I was making in my last job.

To get back in the workforce after being termininated, would you accept the first job offered to you?

My objective is to help pluck out talented artists from obscurity, particularly those with severely limited income (living paycheck-to-paycheck), limited education and resources.

By helping showcase their works in front of prospective large design firms, guild members and other similar organizations, we'd help them get the necessary publicity they'd otherwise never have a chance to get.

To qualify, we'd do a background check of income and work history and we'd check their portfolio to see if it's up to par with presentation guidelines.

I'd prefer to have a showing of their works once a month if some businesses would contribute use of their offices or conference rooms for these events (what they'd charge us to 'rent' out the space would be their tax-exempt cost). They can announce it as charitable goodness on their site and we'd do our part.

I've been browsing several IRS forms but don't know which fits this category...Can anyone with years of non-profit expertise answer?

I have recently graduated from college and looking for a full time or part time position to supplement my income while I am in graduate school and to gain some professional experience in the workplace. I have applied to over 10 different temp and staffing agencies but have not heard anything back from them? Is there anything I am doing wrong? Should I call and schedule an appointment or speak to someone at the temp agency so I can at least get tested or get a preliminary interview or should I just wait to call them?
