I already have a 4-year degree with a major in chemistry, but it seemed like I wasted my time and money, since without experience my degree is useless. No one hires anyone anymore just because they have a degree. So what's the point in all the online degrees? What good can come from spending 2 years online for a degree, but still no work experience??

The co-worker said you weren't doing your job and making things up like telling your boss u said u didnt care about your job or if they fired you-things like that, that arent true, hiding important paperwork and things u need to do your job. How would you handle it? (U can't go to your boss because he thinks the situation is petty & silly and yet it does affect your job and the way he treats you?)

I have been given an offer to work in a storage company in a customer services kind of role. Its not exactly glamorous and its not exactly my dream career (i don't know what I want to do with my life!) but it is 16.2k a year, which I could really do with. What do you all rekon? Should I take the job - do it for a year or so? or hold out for something a little bit more dream based??

Am an Accountant in the Govern. I have been invited for an interview in another organization for the same job. However, the reason for me to leave is the advantage of salary. I get less than what is at stake at the new organisation. I know during interviews I cannot tell the board that I want to leave because you are offering gud remuneration package.

So, I want to have the best reason that can convince the interviewers so that I am considered.

I work at a small cellular locally owned shop, and all of the stores in the chain has only TWO workers at every store. At first it sounded great, but then I met my co-worker.
Lets just call her satin for fun. Well the first few days with satin weren't all that bad. She helped me out a bit, gave me a good basic training, and we got along great. She talks a lot about her personal life, which I can live with (but should be private, such as family issues that are extremely personal.). But the last week I've worked with satin completley changed. She rushes me on stuff she hasn't trained me on, than verbally tells me how to use computer applications (very complicated, I even had to get a notebook to remember anything!). She has been very rude to the point that I can't stand her. I can take a joke, but she will go out of her way to humiliate me coldheartedly, .
I haven't had a job for a while so I want to keep this one, don't really want to quit, how should I deal with her? Thanks

So I am relying on Yahoo Answers for some good advice lol. I'm sixteen and I live in Australia - and I want to be a famous Aussie model.

I am already with an agency, are there any searches that I could enter? I've tried looking on google but all it gives me is a load of junk.

It is what I've always wanted to do - I just love being infront of the camera.

What companies and labels could I contact, and whom do I contact to be a model for them?

I have attached a photo for you guys to check out - http://s239.photobucket.com/albums/ff247...

Any helpful answers will be very much appreciated.

Cheers mate!

I'm going to engage my boss in negotiations tomorrow for a promotion he promised me months ago. I just recently found out my predecessor's salary. I don't have the same skill set, but the job will mostly be the same. I'm wondering if it's appropriate to bring that information up ONLY if needed...if all else is failing.

Hi! I have just posted a question relating to interview tips, and I have gotten great feedback. (I have an interview I am worrying about at midday) People are saying that I should ask the interviewer a question or two. Generally what would you ask your potential employer? (This is a post-production film company, I am applying for a junior accounts assistant position) Any advise would be greatly appreciated.. I need to land this job! :)

I was promoted and now I’m stuck in the office unlike my previous position, which I have to do lots of field research. I need an excitement in my job, and in-office job gets me bored. My performance decline and I feel like I disappoint my colleagues. Should I stay in the same position and struggling to improve, or is it better to find another “field” job?

I am 16, I posted a question asking if I should quit Domino's or not. Well, I have decided to wait 2 weeks after this week (Friday is payday). If nothing has changed I am going to put my 2 weeks notice in, I am going out on Tuesday and Wednesday (days off) after school to grab applications.

I was needing some ideas about where to apply. They have to hire me at age 16, and I would like to get $7 an hour or more. Any suggestions appreciated!!

Hi,

I got my entire tuition covered for grad school, and I turned down much more prestigious schools because of this. So since I don't get to put Columbia Journalism School on my resume, I want to indicate that I got a full tuition scholarship to the other school (so the employer can figure out that I was probably accepted other places). But can I put that on there without it looking cheesy or like I'm bragging? If so, how do I word it? For example, should I put "Recipient of the So-and-So Scholarship (full tuition merit grant)"? Do you think it would turn employers off if they read this?

Thanks for your help!

I'm still a college student, so I haven't graduated yet. My college is having a job fair soon with a lot of companies, including government agencies (I want to participate in a summer internship or coop program) The problem is that I don't really know what objectives I should write, since I will be giving the same resume to different companies. I know that some people think it's stupid to write down the objectives, but in my case it's mandatory. I also need some good ideas of what to write in my resume, since I don't have a specific job experience and I want to make a good impression.

Any advice will be great! Thanks in advance ;)

PS
My major is chemistry

I decided I would take it to the board. Both sides settled on the advise of the judge. The outcome was the "termination" would be dropped and my personnel file would state "resigned for personal reasons." I would have permissive reinstate rights to work for any State agency except my previous employer. ANY mention of tardies would be purged from my file (including any appraisals) knowing no agency would hire me with a tardy problem, also to start with a clean slate. My employer stated other than tardies I was a very good worker and had never been behind in any assignments. Every appraisal "attendance and tardies" have always been marked poor. Recently I've gone to interviews and sign when asked for release of my last appraisal. They've been purged. One question allowed is "would you rehire this person again?" We agreed I would not return so others would not have me as an excuse when tardy. No appraisal in 19 years has to raise some eyebrows don't you think? No job offers. Any advise?

I just graduated college in 3 yrs. and while I was completing my two classes during the summer, my 1st job hired me on a temporary basis (which was rare to find since most firms were looking for full time at the time). After I was done with my classes, my job took me on board on a full time basis. It was for a small ad/marketing comp. and I loved it there, flexible hours, work environment was chill, co-workers were young (so it was easy to relate), and pay was ok. However, before I had even graduated I had applied to work for Social Security Administration. They called me on a Thursday to start on Tuesday and since I couldn't make up my mind I waited until Monday to tell the ad comp.I quit. I only have a wk with SSA and I already don't like it, the workers are older, won't get a raise until my 2 YR probationary period is over and it doesn't even relate to what I studied in college ( I was a business major). Is it too early to try to get my old job back? Or should I wait it out at SSA?

I want to be able design mega structures in other countries or handle the business aspect of civil engineering in a way that would allow me to travel abroad.

A) double major in civil engineering and international business and then going to get my mba

B)doing a dual degree program where i can earn my bs and ms in civil engineering in 5yrs and then going on to get my mba

C)doing a dual degree program where i can earn a bs in civil engineering and mba in 5yrs?

By the time i graduate high school I'll have about 40 college credits through AP and dual enrollment so its ok if the programs take more than the traditional 4yrs
