Hi,

I got my entire tuition covered for grad school, and I turned down much more prestigious schools because of this. So since I don't get to put Columbia Journalism School on my resume, I want to indicate that I got a full tuition scholarship to the other school (so the employer can figure out that I was probably accepted other places). But can I put that on there without it looking cheesy or like I'm bragging? If so, how do I word it? For example, should I put "Recipient of the So-and-So Scholarship (full tuition merit grant)"? Do you think it would turn employers off if they read this?

Thanks for your help!

Put it on your resume. Full tuition scholarships that are based on merit, not lack of income, are something to brag about. Resumes are to toot your own horn so don't be bashful about doing it. When I first got out of college, I listed all the awards, scholarships, my gpa-anything that would single me out from the crowd. There are many students that are just too lazy to go out and get those scholorships. Put down everything-every club, every sport, every activity that makes you look like the better candidate for the job. Employers will see that you are an achiever and that's what they are looking for. . .

Ivy League and different suitable faculties are certainly common for giving out rather good economic programs. Be warned, economic help at those suitable establishments is often on the whole in keeping with choose for, no longer benefit. the final tip i delivers is to be conscious for assorted scholarships. Getting an entire experience is unusual. Getting assorted scholarships that finally end up masking all your expenses is oftentimes the extra consumer-friendly direction (I at present get carry of two scholarships). look everywhere for scholarships. the colleges you're making use of to, community businesses, national businesses, etc. Scholarships can come from certainly one of those components. be conscious to special and small scholarships. $500 would possibly no longer look like lots, yet that's $500 much less you will could problem approximately. Many scholarships are in keeping with PSAT and SAT scores, so do fairly properly on those checks. additionally, save making use of as quickly as you're in college. there are various scholarships for modern-day undergraduate scholars. If scholarships do no longer pan out, there are continually loans.
