90% of the jobs I have had in my life, I was not ready to do when I started.

Manager just requires certain skills.

Be organised
Help people
Manager people
Train people
Make decisions for the benefit of the company

It is not that hard really. Qualifications have little to do with it. Managing can be scarey. You might end up with crazy staff you can't deal with (I have had that) or great staff (so great I am forget I am their manager because I really don't need to do anything).

Life is risk, you have to try it to see how things go.

The best way to motivate your sister is to let her feel comfortable about failing.

If you walk on a plank of wood 1 foot off the ground it is not a problem, but raise it to 10 feet you feel nervous, raise to 100 feet maybe you become frozen in fear.

It is the same for your sister. Taking on a job like a junior management role can be scary. As long as she knows she can fail and it won't be a problem, then she will be willing to take the risk.

Also help her to think about how it all fits into her career plans. This is what she has been working for, so she should put it into practice.

Sometimes when you are not ready, it is better to wait, and sometimes it is better to just jump in and do it or she will never have the confidence to go ahead and do it.

Don't push, let her develop at her own pace. Advise her to consider taking up a job that entails office administration such as Office Manager.

if you have any friend that have their own business, try to recommend your sister as their employee. Advise your sister to be patient and be confident to herself, she can be a Junior Manager someday but it will takes time, so step by step.... and always remember this...the more challenges you accept in life .......the more you grow as a person....!
