Pros: a lot of money can be made but like any industry will take 5yrs. You r your own boss even when working for someone else as your skilled labour. Meet many people & see many houses, easy living and can take a lot of time off. Can laugh at the suits when you r going home at 3pm after starting at 8am, making £250 that day, (no lie.) No stress really (if you've got a brain), and many other avenues of work on big commerical buildings and go anywhere in the world. Best one can laugh at all the suits because they look down on you (well £50,000 / yr at 23yrs old ain't bad is it? For the little stress in return.)

Cons: hard work, body deteriates when get older, can be sitting around 4 mths without work, have to be a get up & go person. No s..t taking industry so can be tough emotionally as no one cares, trust me, highly mercenaric. Not overly mentally stimulating, or rewarding to giving something back to the world, the monkies in the industry who believe everything in The Sun, can become someone who is narrow minded & in later yrs think what did I actually do with my life? It is like slave labour in terms of the soul.

Personally I'm going to become a plumber(an apprentice very soon hopefully),electrician would be my second choice. Both have variety if you go far,for plumbing you learn how to design piping systems, work with more tools, work varies more, perfect for me,you have to be willing to get dirty,It doesn't bother me,so for me personally this is more enjoyable, get to do emergency work. For electrical, you can learn to work on very complex systems, circuits, trouble shooting motors and such definetly a challenge, less tools but requires precision, and is clean work, gets really hot though in the attics, the second most interesting to me.try to find out the details of both If you enjoy and are determined both can make a great living, both for advanced work require knowledge and hands on skills. My dad would personally choose to be an electrician, because it's clean work, lot's of people are that way, plumbing sounds more interesting to me though.hope this helps.

Be reasonable about your fees. Fix it right the first time. Soon you will be looking for more help. You will never be unemployed if you are good. Work on occasional weekends.

stinking work for good money. If you can stand the smell of human waste constantly and even worse by all means be my guest.

People always need plumbers, especially good honest ones.

But it can be physically hard work, and if you're talking about your own business, it can be hard to get going.
