I have been working with another woman in the pet business (hers) for almost a year. I love the dogs I am working with but working for her has become a nightmare. She is inconsistent and flip flops from week to week and tells me one week that she is going to take the dogs from me because she is broke and needs the money and tells me to find a pt job. So I look for a pt job. The next week she says she didn't say that. I have the emails to prove that she did. She complains to me all the time about her finances and tells me every week to hold my paychecks in case they bounce.
Money wise I am sinking! I want to break out on my own and do the work myself. I am capable and have the ideas to do it. As it stands now, she pays me a % of the client's fee. In other words whatever she wants to pay me.
My question is do I just end with her and give up the dogs I already have with her? Once I do, they are gone, they go back to her. But I just cannot work like this anymore.
Thanks for listening!

I just got laid off from my job and I'm trying to figure out what to do with my life now.
I have my Bachelor of Arts in Health Sciences, but it doesn't get me much because it's just an undergrad.
I would like to get into a profession that helps people, but I have no idea what to do (without having to go back to university). I was looking at being an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher, but realized that they don't make very good money (it's more of a part-time job).
Does anyone have any ideas of careers that are out there that allow me to help people?? (that maybe aren't really heard of...)
I know it's kind of a general question, but I'm really at a loss here.
Any help would be greatly appreciated -- serious replies only please.

I have always loved gymnastics and I competed in high school. I just graduated college and I have been working as a gymnastics coach for a local fitness facility for 3 months. I love the work (I coach pre team and help with team 3). I only work about 12 hours a week. I have been thinking of quitting because on days that I work during the day it takes me 50 minutes to get there and I will also be taking a class starting Jan. and hopefully starting graduate school next fall for physcial therapy. I was wondering if I should stick it out or look for a different job that I can get more hours and is closer for me. The gas prices and not having a full time job are really hurting me. If I do quit, will it be bad for trying to get other jobs? Thank you!

sick and vacation leave then took leave without pay. I am employed full time. Full time employees are paid for Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after. I didn't get paid for these days. Not to mention that there has been a lot of backstabbing and back biting since I've been out. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

i have and use intermittent fmla. so they can't reprimand me for missing time that is protected by fmla. but....they are very numbers driven. i work on the phone, and one of the numbers they look at is the percentage of time you are on break. well, if work a shorter day because of fmla, that percentage goes up. i have 1 hour of unpaid lunch, and 15 minutes of paid break for each four hours worked. so my percentage is to high, for example i might take my 1 hour unpaid lunch, not realizing that i am going to end up having to leave early. they are threatening performance management, possibly a final warning.

Hi! I have been interning for my boss for 3 months now and I want the job. I answer any questions the members of his site may have. How do I ask him for the job without sounding rude, impatient, or pissed-off? Thanks in advance! By the way, he has another intern who is doing the same thing as me, but he doesn't really do much.

I don't mind doing abit of overtime for any employer to help them out, you know the odd hour here or there is all there after so no biggy.

I started in my current employment a couple of months back and this strikes me as totally insane, what you think? So people start at 3.30am and work to 10pm at night Mon-Fri We are only supposed to work 8am-4pm Mon-Fri, they clock up something like 90 hours a week.. I think thats insane, infact I am the only employee who doesn't do it, I offer the odd hour here or there but the boss falls out with me saying thats no good..

And the best thing is the get no bonuses etc for doing it, and they only get regular pay, any where else I have worked I've always been paid at least time and a half for over time..

The tax man must love them.. Have I the wrong attitude or is this insane?

My first job was at a sub restaurant( I spent 2 years of my life there), so the places that would quickly pick me up would be fast food places, right? That's all I know how to do. It shouldn't be hard. I have a great resume, good people skills( I mean, my major is Counseling Psychology for goodness sake) and I have a clean background, so what's up??

About to Graduate College...?
I'll be graduating college in 2 months w/ a degree in merchandise marketing (specifically in fashion retail). Any way, my dad offered me a job @ his hospital for book keeping. He said I'll work mainly from home and it'll be a 40/hr work week. I'll make $40/hr. Is this OK for 21 yr old out of college? I've never actually had a job in my life just school, school, school...so it's all new to me. Also, I'll be wanting to rent2buy a home sometime in the near future, what's the proper/least stressful amount for a loan that I could receive? (Dallas, TX)

Thank you!!!

I'm currently studying BA (last year) & I'm in the phase of "Job Hunting". I've got a few calls from HR departments saying they've accepted me and telling me more about the nature of the work, money, etc...
Problem here is time.

I need to be at Univ at 2:00 PM (Morning tiinmings are different for the ladies, cause most of the guys work). Anyway, I get timing sometime from 8:00 - 3:00 or 9:00 - 5:00. I got many good offers but turned them down cause of the timing dilemma.

My question here : WHAT SHOULD I DO ? Should I take the next job that pops up & then go talk to the manager on my first day telling him about the Univ timings ? Then what ?
Will I end up doing extra shifts in the weekends ? or what exactly.

Please stick to my topic & dont write crap.l

I actually work at Walgreens as a sales clerk but want to join the pharmacy dept. because in that way I will be able to shadow a pharmacist and get some experience for how it feels to work in the pharmacy dept.

But I am not a pharm tech or have any certification. I am actually a pre- pharmacy student who wants to go to pharmacy school. Is there any such thing as working only as a cashier in the pharm dept?
