from a man that I met in a chat room. We have been talking for some time now, and he has offered me a job in Dubai. He wants me to fly and meet him there.

How dangerous would that be? I dont know the local customms, still it is rather starange that somebody would offer me a job just like that.

He says he has a "gut feeling" about me.

Have you ever heard of something like that?

I left Wednesday at 2pm. My normal day ends at 3pm. My coworker did not tell me till 11:50 that I had to file and put a 3 inch high stack of papers in abc order and file in one of my bosses' desk. She new about this since 8:30 am. I was in the file room going through files.

This was right before my lunch @ 12:15pm
Well, could not concentrate that day
It was Thanksgiving Eve and I needed go shopping and get home.

Everyone else left early without notifying me at 12pm I and the acting boss were the only ones in the office. I had to close up, answer the phone and clean up. The acting supervisor said it was okay to leave at 2pm. I left both bosses an email stating I could not accomplish the task given that day and That I would finish it first thing Monday.

Should I have just stayed till it was done (I would not have finished till 5pm) ? I am thinking really I screwed up?

i dont want to be a complete jerk.
but.
i have been working for her for a year, and she has never said anything nice to me. I've tried absolutely as hard as I can, and have taken care of many things she should be dealing with herself. In my one year here as a simple sales rep, I have created the company logo, taken care of all of the advertising going out of the store, and set up several deals with the area the store is located. All of these things raised revenue for her incredibly.

I haven't gotten a raise.
She doesn't believe me when i call in sick (this has happened only twice), and she even calls my house rather than my cell to make absolutely sure i wasn't lying.

i just had to ask off one week at the end of december for major jaw surgery, and she called and yelled at me and told me that i needed to get my act together and grow up.

so tell me how to quit, and leave a sting, without sounding like an ***.

:)

I interviewed for my dream job a few weeks ago and the hiring manager said she will be making the decision this week. At the interview, I wasn't asked to fill out an application or provide a list of references. I'm getting really nervous about whether I will get an offer and I think that if I can get the hiring manager to hear from my references, it could seal the deal. I plan on calling her this week to check up on the status of my candidacy and I would like to provide her with my references without coming across as too pushy. How should I phrase this?

Hiya, I'm 15, but 16 in March.
I have been looking around for a Saturday or after school job and have ran out of ideas! I've been to clothes shops in town and they don't employ 15 year olds.
What else should I try?
Is there anywhere you know that is employing 15 year olds, or should I just wait a few months until I am 16 and get one then, although I need money now!
Thanks!
Oh and I don't really want to be doing a paper round or walking peoples dogs ( I have to do that with my dog! )

I have a full-time job and recently took on another one for just Sundays (retail). I'm supposed to go today. I worked there before and it is full of drama and stress. I was thinking the extra $ would be good since I'm fresh from a break up and out on my own. I'm not sure the amount of $ I'll get will be worth the drive, drama and lack of days off. I don't know if this is just laziness or if I should follow my gut and not do this. Any thoughts?

I NEED A JOB

2007-11-24 15:16:36 · 1 answers · asked by Here 3

I am a 24 year old male college student and I may try to get a part-time job to help pay for college expenses.
I have never had a job. I have no references. If I do try to get a job, I dread the interview because I can't think fast enough to answer "tricky" questions and don't want to feel dumb. I am also self conscious so I am afraid that the interviewer may think something like "he's 24, why hasn't he had a job yet".

Am I screwed? Do I have a chance at getting a job?

The type of job I am looking for is probably Starbucks, a school bookstore, etc.

I have three email applications to send to potential employers. Should I send my entire application as a single PDF file or as a single MS Word file? I have been told PDF is preferable as it can't be tampered with. However, with transcripts, the PDF is 16 MB. Word is only 9 MB.

Which would you choose?

Hello,

I am filling out a job application to work at Eat 'n Park. There is a section on the application that says Personal Refrences, Who would be considered as a personal reference? Secondly, there is a part called Previous Employment. The only "job" I've had is volunteering at my local hospital 3 days/week, and I'll continue to do this 1 day/wk, should I put this down under previous employment? (It asks for company name, Address, Phone, Job Title, Reason for Leaving, Supervisor's name, Duties, and starting/ending rate.)
