If you're the king of Queens(Just kidding).
UPS is a career. Many people move up into management with them. Some drivers work there many years (although they complain daily). It's like any other job, it is what you make it. You can do a lot worse but if you are looking at sitting behind a desk than UPS is not for you. It is VERY physical and there is a LOT of stress to meet pick up and delivery dead lines.

From what I've heard UPS has some great benefits for their employees. I'd call it a career in the delivery industry.

If you plan on working your way up through the ranks, it is a career.

If you plan on staying for year or so and getting a different job, it is not a career.
