I just started a new job as a hostess at a restaurant and after I got home I started to cry wondering if I had made a mistake. I want to quit sooooo badly but I don't know if I should. Would it be a little rude to do so after only working there for a few days. Another problem with this is that my best friend works there too and she pretty much got me the job. I need help now. What should I do??????

Ok, so I started a job as a Food Service Supervisor at a Hospital about 6 months ago. I started off supervising the trayline and the union workers suck. I was moved to the production side of things working with a chef that has no idea what he's doing. My boss is expecting me to be creative and develop my job, while doing all the extra projects she may need done. Along with doing what the chef asks me to do and if they need to use me back over on trayline, she can change my schedule at any time. Over the past couple months I haven't even had a set schedule. Sometimes I have to be in as early at 5:30 am and other days not till 9am, its messing up my sleep cycle. I'm miserable and now feel stuck, cuz I am not getting paid for the added responsibilities.
I make about 36K and benefits are good. But, I did a salary search for Production Supervisors in Food Service at Hospitals with 500+ beds and I should be making at least 50K.
What gives???

What would you do?

i want to get a job as a server but i'm not sure which restuarant to apply too. i want to know where you get the most tips. i'm having a hard time deciding if i should go with a fancier restuarant like olive garden or instead something like applebees where the food is less expensive so people would tip more. anyone that is or has been a server or that knows a good restuarant to work at please let me know. Thank you

I'm sure everyone who has worked as a cashier (either at a grocery store or any other store) has dealt with rude, obnoxious customers before?

How do you deal with it when they TOTALLY piss you off?

I worked as a cashier at a supermarket and today this guy started shouting at me and treating me like dirt. He was paying for his groceries and i noticed he had a case of pop under his cart. So i asked him if the case was from here.. and suddenly he started screaming at me saying "dont accuse me of stealing, how dare you. What right do you have to ask me that? you're not doing your job right" and he threw the money all over the counter & i was like what the heck are you talking about. I asked a simple question and he blew everything out of proportion. He comes back a few minutes later and told me that he complained to my supervisor and said "you're in a lot of trouble." and when i tried to talk he told me to shut the f* up.. i cried and i couldnt help it. i was so embarassed :(

Well I just came back from the orientation... I have to go in 3 days of this week for training. I AM REALLY NERVOUS.

My position is a line cook, basically making all the sandwiches and salads... she gave me 2 booklets of food items that I should get familiar with. This is like my first time doing a job like this... I AM SO SCARED that I might screw up. How do cooks memorize 20+ items??? I don't know how I'm going to do it... (I'm starting to think more realistic).

I start tomorrow... but now my nervous thoughts are getting to me and I feel like I don't want to work there, even though I really need the money... I don't know what I should do!!!

I'm a banquet chef, so my busiest day is Saturday with weddings. I have a high school friend getting married this Saturday, and therefore requested the day off, which was okayed by my immediate supervisor, the Exec. Chef. There are three large weddings booked at my place of work this Saturday, so they'll be VERY busy and hectic. The Food and Beverage Director (the exec chef's boss) is very upset that I will not be there, and told the exec chef to find out when the last time I talked to my friend was, how we were friends, and how close we were. Does any of this even matter? Is the F & B director out of line for requesting this information? It is very frustrating to me to work your *** off for someone, and then, when you ask a favor, to get this kind of response.

Hello,

i have an interview with KFC next week, and i have a few questions, if anyone had any past experiences with KFC would be great to share!

1) How many questions, do they usually ask and how long does the interview go for?

2) Do i need to learn the KFC history and their culture?

3) What should i expect in the interview? other answers apart from smile, looking good, confidence etc.

4) >MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION<
is it really true that KFC are hair discriminators?
i have medium-longish hair for a guy, i have a pretty long'ish side fringe that finishes just above my eye, and a medium-longish back(mullet) that finishes up to usually my shirt collars.

would that kind of hair effect my chances of getting the part time job?

Thanks,

We have measureable goals that allow our 5 "teams" to win and accumulate points for rewards at the end of bi-weekly periods and 98-day periods. But our budget for rewards is stretched thin after rewarding teams after each bi-weekly period, and there is not much left to use for rewards after the 98-day period. Do you have suggestions for bi-weekly non-monetary awards that will keep a staff motivated so that they can enjoy a larger reward at the end of our 98-day period?

i have never been out of work and to try and get a better job(driving) seems a near impossibility you would think age and experience would count for a lot but not around CAMBRIDGE is there anything i can do i know there is a law against ageism but you have to prove it and if a company see,s your age whats to stop then putting you on the to old pile,it seems they would rather pay some 16-18 year old less money and not worrie that they have friday or monday off because they had to much to drink?

My boss' offered me a full time job. I began to prepare for it and spent money, then they bring me in the office to tell me that I am not qualified for it although they told me days before that they knew I could do it. They are worried what other workers might say because they have a little more schooling than me. I have been promised full time since I started this job, Now I feel like I have been looked over and screwed . They did not even let me try to prove to them that I can do this job. Then after letting me down, they tell me I am one of their best workers and that I am always there and they feel bad they cannot find a position for me. This sucks, I am seriously thinking of giving them my notice. What do you yahooers think?

i applied for a job at movies and i had a job interview today
the intervieew went perfect but my employer wants to get in contact with my past jobs but i havent worked nearly all year and i left my jobs on bad terms (i didint quit my job formally)

now they are kicking my butt to get incontact with my job.
i decided to get a few people to lie for me to the employer but this is too much drama just to get a minimum wage job.

if i dont get this job, should i just lie on my next job and say i never worked before? im 19 years old so do you think i could get away with it?

i learned my lesson and now i know if i get a job i should stay there for at least 6 monthes and that i should do the 2 week notice thing.

so what should i do about this next job?
