I'm filling out an application and my question is when a recruiter calls your old jobs to find out more about you what do they ask? Do they ask to speak to your old manager or whoever answers the phone? Do they ask for the exact dates that you worked at a job? Does anyone know what all they ask?

I am about to apply for a waitressing job and will be telling them I was a waitress before. Is there anything I need to know? Do you really need experience to be a waitress? I always see that they are asking for ones with experience. Don't you just learn the menu and serve it to them? What's the big deal? I'm not putting waitresses down or saying the job is not physically tiring...but does it really require any type of prior knowledge?

I've heard you can answer calls for Pizza Hut at your own home. Like, you have to have the internet and a home phone, and you take orders. Does anyone else know anything about it? How could I get started?

sorry, a bit long...
okay, so i'm 17, and i will be returning to highschool this fall. i have been working at my current job since the beginning of summer at a fast food place, and i hate it. i already got another job since the beginning of august, however, this is a new store that has not opened yet, but i will start training very soon.
Also, many ppl have recently been fired/ have quit, and now there are only 4 employees left (including myself), and i have recently received a raise (in hopes of keeping existing staff). however, one of the other employees has just given them a two-week notice a few days ago, and the manager is raving mad
i can't stay at this job much longer, and i cant juggle 2 jobs during the school year. i have already made up my mind to quit this job sooner rather than later
the manager considers me one of the best employees there, but i hate it. and she depends on me much more now, and expects me to continue working there throughout the school year.

I work at a day care center as a teacher in the two's room. I just recently got my degree and have been in this room since the summer. With school starting enrollment is high so they need people bad but I am realizing how much I don't like my job. I feel really guilty for wanting to put in my two weeks because my boss has tried so hard to help me with all the things I struggle with but I am not happy and the children deserve someone who enjoys their job.

Hello, I'm 16 and I just started working at a fast food restaurant, and I absolutely dislike it. I have worked four shifts, and have another one tomorrow, and two days after. My aunt got me the job, so it's not like I earned my position. I am a garnisher, which is serving customers with what they would like on their food. Supposedly in a month or so, I should be trained for cashier and grill. I do NOT want to do this. When I have a workshift, I complain that I don't want to go so many times that sometimes I'm convinced I'm not going! My parents both told me to give it a try, and my aunt told me that if at any time it's not for me, then to tell her. I don't think I have what it takes to tell her, because my aunt and my manager think I'm doing such a good job, but I actually hate it. I wanted to use this job as a reference for work experience as it was my first job, but will they give me a bad rep? I was thinking of having my mom explain it to my aunt.. what do you think I should say/do?

Ok so i've been at this job for about 3 weeks, and i cant take it anymore. I work over 40 hours a week with no pay just commission., but i havn't had any sales since i started. The whole company is very slow, not just me. So ive been out for 2 days now with an excuse of a death in the family, which is not a lie. I dont feel like going back again because I'm not making any money at all and cant afford to work for no money at this time. I dont know how to go about quitting bc they are gonna think that i was out for 2 days bc i was planning to quit. I feel bad but i cant afford to be there anymore. :(
What should i say?!

By the way my bf works there too and we are both quitting..ugh!

I started two days ago in a restaurant as a dishwasher, they pay extremely well, but I just don't like it...I think it might be there is so much to learn and requirements about where dishes go, what you have to do, etc, and it's fast and I'm not used to it. You think I am going to get used t it?

I've been working at a restaurant for 2 1/2 months now; I am the HR Manager, Office Manager, Secretary, and Cashier. My title however is only Secretary but my responsibilities are all of the above. My boss keeps adding things to my list of responsibilities and he never changes my title or raises my pay. When anything wrong happens he calls me at home or anywhere and basically tells me it's my fault. Recently I have asked for a raise due to my husband having to quit his job to go to college, my boss basically said "I've been working here for only 2 months, I can find someone to do your job for 2 dollars less an hour than what I am paying you." What should I do, should I get another job or just stay at this one?

i have paid my bills, like what you're supposed to do when you get a job,the thing is,is that except for how long I have worked at this job,i don't feel like I really have accomplished very much, except for making a few good freinds.I would like to feel better about myself working at my job,but I kinda stuck at work, and I would like to get another job,and go back to school, but I don't have a real clear path to what I would like to do,(except for working with computers).I want to take chances, like getting another job,but I don't have alot of confidence in myself in doing something else.Any suggestions on how to change the way I feel about myself?

I recently started working in a company two months ago. I am overqualified for this position and want to look for a better job.
There is an opening available in another department which better suits my interest and qualifications. I dont want this opportunity to pass me by. Can apply for this position or should I continue in my current job for a few month more before I look for something else?

Okay so I worked at Little Caesars a while back. I've been calling since july to ask about my paycheck. I quit in June. We called and they said the manager has left on disability. My mom says she has a feeling that they did not turn in my time card. Is there any other way I could prove that I worked the two days that I did? Or is it possible for them to just get off the hook of paying me? Thank you
