I started two days ago in a restaurant as a dishwasher, they pay extremely well, but I just don't like it...I think it might be there is so much to learn and requirements about where dishes go, what you have to do, etc, and it's fast and I'm not used to it. You think I am going to get used t it?

I was a dishwasher, and you do get used to it. Well.. you never get used to the nasty smell, or the fact that your hands are dry and cracking all the time due to the constant wetness.. But you will get used to what you need to do, and where everything goes. After a while I kinda became robotic about it, like I could work without thinking. But good luck! And keep in mind, if you don't like it, there's always another job out there..

If it's your 1st "dishing" job, you'll get used to it, & if the pay's good, & they treat you good, don't quit, till you have a better job lined up.-my 1st job was miserable but I slowly learned it (some restaurants are easy & some are tough, depends on the set-up in the restaurant,-esp. if your boss treats you bad, I've worked busy jobs that were easy (cause of the system I had,) & I've worked slow jobs that had bad bosses, low pay & the set up in the dishroom is bad-those are the worst jobs (I've washed for about 15 yrs.)

I would give it a month or two to see how it turns up. I remeber working at a place where I hated it for a while, but after words it was okay. Most people get that after the first copule days. If after a couple months your not liking it look for other options.

i can't really say. there's a strong chance that if you don't like it now that you'll probably never really like it. it's a food service job anyway, they're not supposed to be lifelong careers. they have a reputation for being shitty jobs for a reason. but hopefully you will get used to it and make friends there, friendly co-workers can make a big difference in the satisfaction of your job.

also, depending on where you work, there will be some ******* who expect you to have everything down pat as if you've been there for years. just ignore them. they're probably miserable b/c they HAVE been there for years lol
