s the employer typically toss out the application? Its more important that t I actually get the job than getting the higher wage. On the other hand, I would hate to miss out on a higher wage if it were possible. On the "wage expected" portion of the app I'm thing on writing $10 but I wouldnt be suprised if they wanted to pay this position $7 an hour. Its a cook job at a retirement home. I have 5+ combined working years of experience in all positions in a restaurant

I am looking to work part-time while I raise my kids and go to school full-time. I have been turned down by 10 different jobs that all decided I was overqualified. I don't want to work full time which would be required for my qualifications. what's a girl to do?

So, I'm going to school during the day. I've always worked Mon-Fri office type jobs and classes at night. But I want to give my 110% this time and take classes in the am so I'm nice and fresh. I need a job thats descent paying b/c I'll still have bills unfortunately lol, but I've done waitressing before and not really fond of it. I was thinking maybe banquet server?? Is it long hours? The pay? OR any other suggestions? Thanks so much =)

I just started waitressing there less than two weeks ago because I am between jobs and looking for an administrative office job and I needed money. I have two interviews set up. Should I wait till I hear if I get one of the jobs 1st?

I am kind of good looking and in my mid 40's and the interviewer sounds hot and under 30 over the phone.
even if she isn't I think I have a better chance of landing at this job if she thinks I am single; well unless she married. Anyways, I want this job and I use to get jobs easy when I was single and now it seems like its more of a struggle since I have been married.

When do they feel it is necessary to do this?
"Your hired!" then they never call etc.....or they say they will call in 24 hours and totally don't do it.

If so would you be willing to tell me how you like it..?
Is it difficult to work your way up? (I heard avg. turnover is 25%/yr)
How difficult is the work load during tax season?

If your willing to talk about your experiences with me; could you leave a note saying it is okay to e-mail you and ask you about what work is like? If so that would be great.. I'm just wondering about some BASIC things..

I've never had a serious job but i'm thinking about taking another vacation...simply because that's what i do..i work really hard save a lot of money and then go. I don't have a career. I just work wherever i please but i was wondering. I just moved to this job in april and was thinking about leaving in october. i only have 3 jobs on my resume. the first i had for 2 yrs. than i went on a huge trip. then i got a job in jan and held that for almost 4 years. I moved to my new state to get a differant job and change surroundings. I had to leave the first job because of various reasons even though i was a great worker they won't give me a good recommendation. so now i've been at my new job since april and i want to relocate back to my home state...or possibly somewhere else.
since i work in jobs that don't have a high retention rate anyway or that always need ppl do you think this will be a big deal or no?
