I am working part time doing Gelato ice cream about 14 months and nothing happened. Till this Singapore based restaurant hired a Branch Manager who is from Europe a few months back. I came to understand that this company is not making money and he tries to keep his job by cutting costs n downsizing manpower. Infact he is drinking while on duty, enjoying the food and his job is only to say 'Welcome' in his language. He leaves his job early and sometimes he also disappeared. Two days ago a customer found two small pieces of transparent plastics or glasses in the ice cream. This Manager asked me if I heard about it asked do I have any explanation? I nodded. Later I said I hope everybody has got to be careful. He said 'I don't care and I don't want it to happen again.' The way he put is like that I am only to be blamed and I have to answer for it. I cannot guard the ice cream for 24 hours. It would be taken to another outlet and served by anybody. What would you do if you were me?

I am looking for a job, and I am considering waiting tables. The only thing that makes me nervous about this is carrying the trays. It looks so difficult to me! I am a petite girl, but I see girls like me doing it all the time. My husband is a server, and he says that carrying the trays isn't as hard as it looks. I would like any encouragement, tips, or advice. I would like to hear from people who wait tables and do this and from people who feel this part of the job let them down or gave them trouble, especially if you had to quit because of it. I used to work at Sonic Drive-In, and that was the closest I got to carrying a tray like this. I know it is totally different, but I am just giving as much info as possible. Also, the job I'm considering is at Blacked Eyed Pea, so if that helps any... Thanks!

I asked my employee to perform her duties on the job and if she were to leave her station or make a phone call just ask and let me know as the manager on duty that yes I needed to know where she was . Every time I approached her to "coach" her and explain how disrespectful it was by yelling at me, she got up and walked away. This happened twice and after the third time I just sent her home. She then told her mother who came in and got my name and my bosses name so I documented everything in a company write up. I told her as long as she was disrespectful to me that I do not want her working on my shift.
I have gotten complaints from other employees who work with her and she does the same stuff. The general manager of this store told me if she doesn't listen, then I have the authority to send her home which I did. What exactly does telling her mother do for me? I asked the mother that if she didn't listen to her boss would she be fired and she said yes. She just doesn't get the point

im going for an interview at a grocery store tomorrow, and i was wondering, what kind of questions are usually asked in job interviews?

Is it normal, or is it weird, I have yet to meet anyone who has ACTUALLY done this for bar tending and / or Wait staff positions, even though it seems bothersome to prospective employers, retro fashioned a bit pushy and strange. If it is done, What should it say? Is there a template?

Is it actually sent through the mail or do you just call them up or hand deliver it ?
Most importantly, How long after the interview should it be sent after, how about two months later, is that too long?

What would the person have to look like, act like for you as a hirer to feel threatened by them, extremely uncommunicative, etc.., or to simply not like the person?
want out as quick as possible when they come in for an interview? And makes them want to lie about a position being open or not, and be vague about who does the hiring and throw them off on how to contact them, and embarrass and humiliate in front of everyone else in the restaurant?

I started working at Dunkin's Donuts for about 3 days but so far I'm thinking that this is not the job for me. Its obviously a fast-paced job and I can't handle it mentally. I'm in training right now and I'm not sure if I'm able to tell the manager if I can quit. And I'm not sure if I can quit during my training. If I can, what is a nice way to tell him that I want to quit the job even though its too early.

I was wondering what I'm supposed to do, because this is my first job and I dont know how long stuff like this is supposed to take. Also, do I need to take a resume to the interview? If so, can someone post a template for a resume for a regular summer job. No resume templates for full time jobs please

I talked to the manager of a decent japanese restaurant and asked if I could work in the establishment. He was quick to say yes and it shocked me. He told me that I will start this Friday. He explained the uniform code that i should follow and set me up with a mentor. Because it all went too fast, and it was my FIRST job, i forgot to ask for the hourly wage... I think the manager assumed that I would work for minimum wage, which is what $6.67(FL)? I was expecting more of around $7.50 per hour. What should i do/say and when is the best time to do it?

(I mean where do I apply for such a job? I have checked websites of several airlines but none of them list this position in their career search. Are food service personnels hired by contracters? If so, how do I apply to a contracter? Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks a bunch!)

I went on an interview already for one job. The hiring manager called me back and said she would call me back on Friday to talk about when I can come on board. That basically sounds like to me that I have the job. But I could be wrong. I have an interview for another job on Thursday. I'd much rather have this job. If I get a position they'll pay 100% of college tuition. School is very important to me so this is a big deal. I won't have to come out of pocket for anything! But I don't know what to do! The 1st job's pay is good. I like that position as well, but I'd rather work the other job. I have no time to be picky though because I need a job. So what should I do? Should I tell the interviewer on Thursday the situation? Should I ask what my chances are of getting the position? But what if I do get the 1st interview job and then the 2nd as well? How would I go about leaving the 1st?!? So confused....

i got a job at the weathervane and i have been washing dishes for roughly a month. everyone told me i will wash dishes for a couple months then move to cook. however last night the assistant manager taught me how to cook at a certain station and later that night he told me that i will train there for the next 2 weeks and then work at that station full time. i think the guy who is there now is going to get fired. however i am going to be out of town for the next 2.5 weeks and the manager knows this but the asst. manager i believe is unaware. so if they are planning on fire the cook now and giving me the job will i lose this oppurtunity to be a cook. will they give it to somebody else instead of waiting. wut do you think??

I'm 17 years old and I really need a job because I totally have nothin to do in my house. I applied like over 4 jobs already and none of them called. I think it is because I have no experience and those jobs were big coorperations. I applied at the AMC, Sears, Vons, Ralps, and Mervins. I want to apply at starbucks but I don't know who to ask for an application. Also do you have any idea where I should start working and have a big chance of getting accepted.

Please don't tell me Mcdonalds

P.S. How do you apply on local resturants as a waiter? I know you walk in but who do you ask?
