Please tell me how to get pharmaceutical reps to use our catering business for their lunches? How do we get our name out there? Drs. offices that we call, don't give us any information as to who their drug reps are. Hope you can help! Thank you.

I work in healthcare and we are not allowed to accept free gifts from reps of any kind. It is in our policy. The first responder might be right and find yourself a new client. However if you want to stay in healthcare...You might want to make a menu and pass it out at doctors offices, clinics and nursing homes and advertise that we will cater your meetings. There are always meetings for marketing and networking. So many times the hospitals have meeting for local doctors, or executive directors of nursing homes. Clinics have open houses for the public...all of these things need food. You can have a sit down menu, open house type menu with punch, tea and finger foods, healthy choice menu, bag lunch menus. Things like that. That sort of business might work. Places like libraries have open houses and meetings among investors...and the library doesn' thave a kitchen so they might get you to cater. Any associations your town has...they have monthly meetings that would need food. Good luck

Docs are the LAST folks who will help you with pharmaceutical reps, since most are considered by docs to be major time wasters and a genuine pain in the backside.

My wife's practice has banned these characters from the clinic without appointment. The food fests are no longer allowed either. It's becoming more and more common. Try finding other clientele for your catering business.
