Im 100 percent burnt out doing this job. Ive been doing this for over 7 years and still a ptf. Now that I have a son who is close to a year old, I want to spend more time with him. Working 6 days a week sucks, delivering one town then driving 30 min to another and doing it again the same day I feel I am in a constant state of rush . I can go on and on about how this job sucks. Has anybody else felt my pain ?

I did an interview last thursday for a company. They said that they would let me know the decision by this week. I sent them a follow up letter on monday but I am not getting response yet. Do you think the company is still making decision? or is it the holiday season so they are not hiring? or when is the best time for me to actually call them?

I have always been very interested in health care, and I'm currently working as a hospital social worker in an inpatient unit.

There are two areas of health care that I'm passionately interested in. The first is medical ethics. For example, my hospital will sometimes have cases where we need to have team consultations where we discuss a complicated case from multiple perspectives (e.g. legal, medical, familial, etc.). I find these types of cases fascinating, but don't know if there's a good career match for this interest apart from law (which I don't want to pursue).

My second interest is working to make health care delivery more efficient. I am fascinated by the inefficiency of the current system in many areas (reimbursement, documentation, pricing structure, etc.). Once again, I'm not sure what type of job or training one would need to have to focus on these issues.

I teach college English. I was offered a part-time position doing acadmic advising at night. Honestly, I got the job because my sister works in the same place.

I'm a month and a half in, and I've yet to be trained. I feel completely overwhelmed, and I'm hating the night hours. I feel like this night job is an inconvenience to my teaching.

I feel like a jerk because it is a good job, but I think I realize that this is not something I want to do. But I'm afraid of making my sister look bad or seeming ungrateful.

I know I shouldn't have gotten into the job because of the whole family/work relationship, but I didn't listen to that little voice. Now, I'm kicking myself.

I've verbally committed through May of next year. Should I stay that long and just hate it? Or should I leave now?

I've told my sister that I'm hating it. (She's also supposed to be my trainer and immediate supervisor. She's not happy with how I feel about it, but she understands.) What should I do?

I've been working at my first retail job for the past 3 weeks, and I already dread going. I like my coworkers and boss fine, but I find the actual job boring. Selling to customers is very hard and we are expected to sell at least $250 of merchandise in an hour. This is very hard, seeing as most customers come just to browse. I hate this job, and have no passion for it. I've worked as a grocery store cashier and babysat, and I have to say I enjoyed those jobs much more. I don't want to create bad feelings, but I really want to quit. I'm a seasonal employee, a highschool student, need a steady income and I need job experience. I'd like to work at something I have a passion for, like art or writing. What can I do? How can I resign with no hard feelings after just starting? Is there an excuse I can use? I know this sounds very immature, but I'd rather be doing the things I really enjoy while I'm young, not working at a frustrating job. Please help! Thanks
-Emma

this company has told me for 8 weeks now that i have a job, but still have not yet hired me, there waiting on a background check. my question is why would a company lie to a person like this, isnt easier just to say the truth at this point? do you think this is some kind of practical joke? i guess my question is what are the reasons they would be doing this??
