I need some advice. I've been a receptionist for two years and am miserable and bored.
I'm starting to teach piano part-time and am finding that I love it! I could be making the same amount of money if I got 20 students that I make at the job I'm currently in.
Problem is, I can only teach after 5:30 pm and most students take lessons after school starting at 2:30.
Should I quit my current job now or wait until I have at least 10 evening students? I currently only have 3. It takes time to build up a good student base.
I am worried about not having healthcare and a steady income for a few months? Is is worth it to stay in this terrible job for those things?
Thanks for your help!

I recently quit a management job without notice to the employer. The work environment was too stressful and I had no time with my family, and I was tired of working from 4pm until 5am.

I don't like to bash an employer in an interview, because it reflects negatively on the applicant.

So, how would you recommend that I fill in an application on the reason for leaving. Also, if I'm asked why I left, how can I tactfully and honestly answer that question?

Any suggestions?

I am not very loved at work... I eel that the other girls don't love me... first, I'm new, i've been working with them or three months and hey play the "know it all" and hey all wanna act as if they were my mnagers just because they have more exprience.. they're constantly looking after what I've done to make sure I haven't made mistaks (as if was dumb) . If I make a mistak they complain "why didn't you ask since you don't know" and if I ask they get annoyed and coplain that I ask too many questions

worse, one customer admitted he had a crush on me, and my co worker told everyone an told them who he is and everybody refuses to tell me who he is... they laugh and joke about it and I still don't know who he is

and I also try to be nice with customers... this girl said that I was flirting with some customer (who is about my father's age) and when I stood up to defend myself she was like "it's a joke"

why do they under estimate me and dislike me? what do I do ? :(

I interviewed for about 2 hours today with a hiring manager that reinterated that the job is very fast-paced, and at times can be very hectic. I told her that I was up for the challenge, and that I need something that exercises my brain. At the end of the interview, she said to take a couple of days and think about it. Then contact the recruiter in human resources and let him know. Then, I said that I think this job would be perfect for me to gain experience in my career field. Then she said to contact Ryan (the recruiter) in a few days and talk to him about it. Did I get the job, or not? I thought that was weird.

I feel weird about asking. Am I perfectly justified in asking? I don't want my bosses to think I don't trust their word.

and I am so damn happy. First time an employer as hired ME, ME to work for them. And its not a low company that as crap pay, its really good with good pay. So IDK where the question is in this, but just wanted people to know that people who are still seeking for their first job and can't seem to find one, well GOOD NEWS people, its NOT possible to get a job, because I've proved it. After months of many many online and paper applications I done it, I can PROUDLY SAY, "I NOW CONTRIBUTE TO SOCIETY AND ITS A DAMN GOOD FEELING."

In my office, we have a new girl (less than 6 months on the job) and she repeatedly takes long breaks and lunches, and leaves early. I'm fairly certain our office manager is unaware of this and unaware that this girl is fudging on her timecard in order to get her 40 hours in. She also has a disregard for office policies, such as dress code, and I have voiced my opinion of that to the office manager, as well as informed the office manager of a 45 minute break last week that this girl took with another coworker. I don't want to look like I'm 'out for blood' but I don't feel like I should keep quiet when I know she's lying. What should I do???

I applied for a supervisory position at a manufacturing company. At my previous two employers I worked my self into managerial and supervisory positions and now have 8 years of supervisory experience. I recently earned my Associate of Applied Science degree in Business and Supervisory Management.

Today i was notified that I have been chosen as a finalist for the postion with two internal candidates, and we will be interviewing with a panel of supervisors and leads at the company. I have the supervisory experience and the degree that the position discription prefers, but lack the knowledge of the companies industry.

How do I highlight my advantages to a group of employees that I hope will soon be my peers? Who are most likely a mixture of employees promoted without supervisory experience and education, and those hired externally.

The panel will certainly be familiar with the internal candidates. How do I get them comfortable with me quickly?

I've worked for for 4 fast food restaurants, 3 of which are currently out of business in my town. I also worked at a gas station for a month and a factory for 2 days. I have made the decision to pursue clerical/office work and sat down to type my resume, realizing that the gaps in my job history may be detrimental to my chances of being hired in a professional setting. This is my work experience:

Factory job: 6/21/07-6/22/07
Gas station: 10/06-11/06
Restaurant: 6/06-8/06
Pizza shop: 10/05-3/06
Restaurant: 6/05-8/05

There was also another restaurant I worked at in 2004 but I don't remember the exact dates of employment.

My friend who owns a small web design firm offered to lie for me and say that I worked as his secretary for a year but I don't know if it would be a good idea to lie on my resume. If I do include previous odd jobs on my resume, how should I set it up? Keep in mind that I don't know the exact dates of the last place I worked.

these are just the little jobs that I had during and before college over the summers. (they're not formatted on here because it kept getting thrown on different lines) My question tho is this part:
Crystal Springs Resort: Seasonal Maintenance Summers 2000 - 2002
is this ok to leave as summers 2000 - 2002? or should I break it out as (putting summers just reads as unprofessional to me... not sure if it is tho)

" " May 2002 - August 2002
'' '' May 2001 - August 2001
" " May 2000 - August 2000
it just seems a little redundant to me to have the same thing for 3 lines but I can't put just May 2000 - August 2002 since I didn't work in the winter while at school can I?

Crystal Springs Resort: Seasonal Maintenance June 2005 – December 2005
Case Construction: Carpenter May 2003 – August 2003
Crystal Springs Resort: Seasonal Maintenance Summers 2000 - 2002
New Jersey Rock Gym: Instructor April 1996 - August 1999

Hello

I have sent my resume out for the last 18 months and the responses back have been kind of weak to say the least. Is there any free resume critique services out there? If not which is the best resume service available especially to MBA's. Any information given will be appreciated
