Well first try calling your friends and seeing whats going on and then hangout with them, or just talk over the phone.
Try going on a walk sometime just you. Walk around your neighborhood and look at everything. It really depends what you're interested in. Go Swimming at a local Swim Center. Or go on to the computer and explore some new websites you've never seen before. Do Something fun.

Get rid of some of your free time by volunteering. There is someone or some organization out there that could use an extra hand! You'll be using your time for a good cause.

What do you feel like doing? I sometimes find that I am rushing around trying to avoid doing nothing...but if that's not the case, (if it were, do nothing, sit, think, meditate), then think about things that you enjoy (reading, travelling, meeting friends), or things you've been putting off (cleaning, looking for a new place) or things to help with your new job (research).

Go through all your stuff and get rid of any junk or clothes that you haven't used in 1 year. Sell it, donate it, whatever. Getting rid of the clutter is good for the soul. Being organized makes life less stressful.

get organized. you're gonna be stressed like crazy when you start the new one (making sure you're on time/early first day etc.) so make sure you have everything you need to make your first week go as smoothly as possible. do all your laundry, if you take lunch/coffee with you, make sure you went shopping, get a haircut if you need, then saturday, sit back and relax before you have to get to be early sunday
