I started my new job two weeks ago.
Yesterday I found out that I got accepted to a prestigious graduate school, starting in Fall.
It means I need to work full-time until September.
My fear is if my boss finds out about grad school, I will lose my job.
On the other hand, it is a good thing to let them know about it right away, not two weeks in advance.
What is the right thing to do?

I know the job i have is not a bad job. I am in my mid twenties, and I earn more than anybody my age.When I left school , to the surprise of my parents ,I took a trade than pursing college. On finishing my trade, I "recalibrated" myself, and took a job in the IT industry ,and worked. I know earn a great wage, and things on that sense are doing well. However, lately I find I am bored. I do not like going to work,and I feel I have made mistakes. I need my current income now ,and I cannot afford to drop. I do not know now what to do. I don't know if I can continue my current place. I am happy, but bored and fed up. I do not know what to do. Does anyone know whats wrong with me , and what should I do now ?

HELP! i have worked for the same company for 9 years. My boss can be very stern, ex-army! his daughter has joined the company 18 months ago, working along side me...
At my last apprasal my boss promised me the above qualification. I was so excited. He then suggested, as there was free government funding, to do level 2 as an 'introduction', then on completion, i could then go staright to level 3 - with his daughter.
As i was doing my level 2, a lot of office politics and mores the word, bullying occured. It was that bad, i looked for another job, went for interveiw and got the job. £3k year more! But i turned it down and told my boss the truth and that i wanted to put all the problems behind us and get on with it! This has worked well, with no problems since!
He now says NO! How can i do this without him?????

I have had my position for coming up on 3 years now. about a year ago I finally got to start collage, eveything was cool. I worked my class schedule around my work and let my bosses know what my school classes were weeks before they started.

Owners change half a year ago with no conflict on my end school wise. I sign up for my therd term with a 4.0GPA and let them know. a week after that they sind me a change of work schedule that 100% conflicts with my school on the most important days. I tell them I cannot work that and all he says is "That's Unfortunate."

can they truly get away with that? granted this is Texas and is hire at will fire at will, but is there legal recorse for their actions I should probably presue?

I'm 27 lebanese male, i'm married and have an 8 months little baby, i'm having a master in computer science (i stiil have 1 year), and i have a 4 years experience in a successful company here in Lebanon in this domain.

All that i need is where to find a company that can offer me the good accomodation for me and my family, and a good job with a good salary. Prefer to go to Australia.

I have been off sick with a number of medical issues which will b resloved in a month or so. So my employer didn't have to know all the details I told them It was cancer related and that after a month of radiotherapy I would be fine. This would give me chance to get well. Now they want a full medical report from my dr to cover my absence. Obviously they aren't going to get it. Does my Dr have to give exact details as to why I'm off sick??? I can get a genuine sick certificate but it won't say cancer. I know Ive been stupid but now I'm stuck...any suggestions???

I am a musician, citizen of Armenia, frequently having a concerts in different countries all around the world. I have heard, that for having a concerts and having a financial activity (being paid for concerts and so on) requares to have a so called "fiscal code", or "codice fiscale". I do have my ID as a citizen of Armenia, my passport etc... Do I need such a "sical code", and could you please tell me, what is it for at all...??

I have been in my job for 5 months now and next week i am having my performance review.
When I received the offer letter from the company it stated the starting salary. At the time of the interview I mentioned about my salary being reviewed in 3 months time, but the GM who agreed to it has left.
Will the new GM laugh at me in asking or shell I not mention it.

I worked for Wells Fargo for 4-1/2 years. I had a 401K that was to vest in 5/2007. They laid me off 6 months before that and thus kept the 401K. I would like to know if there is anything I can do. I think companies deliberately lay off employees at the bottom of the totem pole and there's nothing a person can do, after being loyal all those years.
