I started my new job two weeks ago.
Yesterday I found out that I got accepted to a prestigious graduate school, starting in Fall.
It means I need to work full-time until September.
My fear is if my boss finds out about grad school, I will lose my job.
On the other hand, it is a good thing to let them know about it right away, not two weeks in advance.
What is the right thing to do?

just work, give 2 or 3 weeks notice near end of summer. nobody is that valuable that they can't be replaced when they leave. don't worry, company will survive, and employers fully expect that people will leave for all kinds of reasons. turnover is usually highest amongst shorter term employees anyway.

I suppose it depends on the company that you're working for and how they'd react. You're likely a better judge of their character than anyone here. I can see where you're coming from, in that you fear that if you tell them this many months prior, that they may either terminate you immediately, or make your working life unbearable. From the employer's end, it costs them money to recruit, hire and train new employees, and they usually don't like filling a position multiple times in the same year.

There is a possible silver lining to this cloud. Depending on the size of your company, they may have employee incentive programs for their workers to obtain higher education goals. As a result, they may look favorably upon your going to grad school, and want to work with you to help you achieve that goal. Support could come in the form of monetary supplement, reduced working hours, or even holding a position for you to return after you graduate.

If your company has an HR department, try to gather some info to determine what their position might be.

If you tell them now you may not be treated as well as a permanent worker, but wouldn't you feel better about yourself?
If you don't already feel that you should tell them,, if you don't have that gut feeling,, then forget it,, just walk away whenever. But don't complain if you are ever treated the same way.

What's the worst that can happen? They lay you off now? Maybe you'll bump into Mr. Right as you leave the place??
It all happens for a reason,, but how you react defines your life.

Look at your contract, how many weeks notice do you have to give. That's all you owe the company, the correct notice. There's no need for them to know your personal matter, you are simply an employee not a member of family.
