I have been off sick with a number of medical issues which will b resloved in a month or so. So my employer didn't have to know all the details I told them It was cancer related and that after a month of radiotherapy I would be fine. This would give me chance to get well. Now they want a full medical report from my dr to cover my absence. Obviously they aren't going to get it. Does my Dr have to give exact details as to why I'm off sick??? I can get a genuine sick certificate but it won't say cancer. I know Ive been stupid but now I'm stuck...any suggestions???

I am assuming that your illness is not at all cancer related and you are worried what your employer will do when they see the sick note saying something entirely different.
Obviously you don't need me to tell you how foolish you have been not to mention the complete disrespect that show to REAL cancer sufferers!!!!!!
You are stuck and it serves you right for lying. I have no sympathy I'm afraid as you have brought this on yourself.
I would gather whats left of your non-existent self respect and own up to the fact that you lied.

You run the risk of losing your job but what else can you realistically do??? No GP will sign you off with something you don't have. It's more than his job is worth.
Your employer obviously wants a medical report to check if you are fit for the job!

Own up

Well is there a reason why you dont just tell them how it is ....
If its cancer related they will be very understanding im sure as with most other medical reasons.

I understand you feel violated at this time by the "invasion" of your mediacl records but this is the last thing you need to be giving head space to.

I have suffered cancer myself so I understand completely that things are really tough and your head frets about all the silly things rather than the ones that matter.
I hope you have a welfare department looking after you at work also.

Good luck
Stay stong

If you have a Dr .Certificate, thats all they need.If it covers the time you were off and briefly stating why you were absent.

You certainly do not have to give them a full report. What the Doc gives is what they will get.

If it was not cancer related you should not have said that!!!Then you would not be so worried.

Don't tell a lie, especially to your boss. Or else, he won't trust you. Better get the doctor's report. Who knows, once your boss read the report, he will help you cure your sickness whatever they are.
Go and ask your doctor to produce his medical report. Always take care of your health, ok? Have a nice day. GOD BLESS.

I was off work since may 06 to jan 07 and they got a medical report from my doc saying why i was off but i think you can actually sign something so they cant get one but that might affect your job if they get funny,i had to resign because my work were been funny even with the report.
best thing to do is speak to your doctor and tell him whats going on.

Telling anyone you have cancer if you don't is a cruel and stupid thing to do..My husband had cancer from which he subsequently died and his employer demanded a medical report..You don't have to comply but you won't get paid and could lose your job..
