what exactly is it that keeps u going at work ?
is it the salary package?
is it ur relationship with the boss or colleagues?
is it the independance and authority u have?

I signed a contract to be a trainee manager at a juice bar. The contract says that I have 6 months probationary period. During that period, my employment may be terminated at any time. However, 6 months have passed by. I think it is time to ask to raise my pay.

I wanna achieve two goals by writing to my boss. First of all, I wanna finish trainee period to become a manager. second, I wanna raise my pay. I am not English speaker, I don't know how to write this letter either.

Please help me out!!! Thank you.

I currently work at a job which is easy and pays good money. However the lady I work with is extremely irritating and the job is dead end i.e. I am not developing any new skills and chances for advancement are slim.

I quite fancy moving into information management, but this would involve a placement year with at least a £5000 pay cut. I would then have to return to Uni to complete an MA. This too would mean more expense.

I am worried about getting too comfortable in a job with no prospects and not developing a full career but also worried about the financial implications of moving jobs.

Any suggestions?

I was on the phone to a customer and i thought i put them on hold but i didnt. I started slagging them off and calling them every name under the sun and they heard everything!! As of yet my boss hasnt said anything but what shall i do if they make a complaint?!
