The question is, do you have another source of income or can you survive without the money? Like one person said there is always unemployment but being dismissed can look bad for your record. Especially if you are bouncing from job to job. Employers like to see someone that is stable.
I would not do either unless you had a plan to follow it up such as another job. Then you could show that you were leaving on account of a better opportunity.

You leave before they chuck you out because dismissal sends wrong signals to your prospective employers whereas you resigning the job does not matter because for a host of reasons people quit the jobs and they could easily find another one.

If you leave, the company will not give you anything. Because they will say that it's your will to go out from the company. But if you are dismissed, than the company are oblige to give you something such salary for X months.
I don't know where you live, but in europe it's like that.
