Since I started worked at this company, I realized that was a certain competition between me, same nationality as the company, and other Americans. The rules that applied to the American nationals never applied to me, a South American national. Things were getting ugly, but I was the last one to be hired and I couldn't find another job, and being here by myself, I had to shut up and do the best I could. I always had to do more than it was expected of me, and was never appreciated. Because of the harassment, my job quality was as good as before, I was completely unmotivated and on my review, my boss only said negative things about my work. Just one detail - 65% of the English he learned was taught by me and I was never compensated by it. The day I decided to quit was because my co-worker was cleaning my desk and rearranging my furniture without my permission, because she said it would look nicer and that I wasn't as organized as I should be. I decided to quit.

My boss is from Bangledesh, and thinks that there is a caste' system in the office. He yells at the front office workers with personal attacks, bringing some to tears. My coworkers and I are not paid to be called stupid, or worthless, when he makes a poor decision, or has a bad day.
I am close to throwing him out the window, for the way he reacts with others. I am having a hard time not taking my feelings home.

I'd hate to be a coal miner! To work in the dark, cold, wet underground would be so depressing! I'd also hate construction. I tried it once - yuck!! What about you? What would you hate to do?

For some reason recently my boss has been making me e-mail him when I arive and leave work. I am the only one out of about 7 employees that has to do this. I feel singled out. I get singled out in the office about other things too. This week he has been in California on business and I have forgotton to e-mail him the last 2 days. Today I got this e-mail from him...
"A reminder that you haven't been reporting your arrival and
departure times the last few days. Please give me a summary for this week and try to get back on track. Since I am unable to check on this visually I rely on this. I discussed this with our time keeper in the human resources department and she agreed that starting next week they would only pay for hours logged in and out in this way. Thanks."
If I am here for 8 hours, they can't NOT pay me...Right!?!?!
And to be completely honest with you, my hours are not the ones he should be worried about. I have co-workers that will work 4 hrs and put 8 on thier card.

I work for a very small company, and have been working for them for 6 1/2 years now. They have come to depend on me very much and treat me like family.

My boyfriend lives two hours away from me in a much bigger and better city. We are planning on getting engaged soon and I am going to be moving in with him when my apartment lease is up at the end of July.

I am having a hard time deciding on how I should break the news to my employers. We all went out to lunch today and I had planned on telling them, but I froze up... I figure the sooner I tell them the better so that we can find a suitable replacement for me... so how do I do it??

I've heard that you need three years work experience before you can become certified. It seems like a chicken/egg type of deal, because how do you get experience when you're not certified? Exactly what jobs can you get that will count towards certification?

The bias is in your head because you choose to see the reports the way you want to see them. Anyone who's ever worked in the news industry (and I have) knows that any hint of bias outside the columnists and editorial is the deathknell for your news organization. So why would any reputable news organizations risk that?

I have only had 2 interviews so far. I am so bored and end up wasting the day away surfing the internet. As each day passes I feel more hopeless and depressed. What should I do?

My employer issued me, in writing my new commission stucture for 2007 back in December 06. Just before the year ended I landed a large order that created a very large backlog, which would result in some very large commissions. Now a month later they are telling me that because of my large backlog they will cap the amount of commission I can make. Is this legal if they already sent me the new structure in writing and there was no mention of a cap in the original?

When I went in she looked over my portfolio and I am qualified for the job so she asked me to tell her about myself....I did and she seemed happy with my answer. Then the rest of the time she talked to me about what the job entailed, the pay, the orientation, hours, benifits, details of training. Then the interview was over when she said they were calling my references...then they would let me know today or tomarrow. I am so worried cause no word yet, and I thought it was odd that she didnt ask alot about me....what do you think should I worry or not....how does that interview sound to you. She laughed, we had a great convo but I expected the usual questions. I do know they have called my references....
