Just say Hi, I'm interested in working at your company and was wondering if you have any job openings or if you're accepting applications at this time?

I think you should go in person, not call on the phone. Most business get a zillion phone calls a day and it's easy for them to get rid of you. In person, I think you are less likely to get the brush-off. If this is a restaurant or store or something like that, you could say, may I speak to the manager, please? or, I was wondering if there are any job openings? good luck!
