My husband works for Schwan's, I think the pay is great, the hours suck but its worth it. The opportunity to advance is great, he was promoted after a year there, so he isn't on commission anymore but his pay wasn't bad on commission either.

Why not work as a UPS driver? Government benefits and no pay based on commission. I have a friend who also drives for Meyer Dairy here in Ohio. He gets plenty of hours and brings home some serious jack. Lot better than Schwans, that's almost like selling Avon (nothing against Avon reps!)!

I have a friend who is a Schwan's driver in Maine. He used to do it in the Athens, GA area. I think his pay is commission based, so it varies and depends on how much you sell.

There are also opportunities for bonuses and gifts when you meet your sales goals.
