How much data will the SS office give you about an applicant? Full name, gender and date of birth? If so should this be considered a privacy or disclosure issue?

I just don't understand. I had a phone interview w/ the plant manager and the maintenance manager. The interview went great. They both knew that I worked on the older version machines, (they had more modern updated version). They both knew it would take 6-12months to learn the ins/outs of all the machine. (any mechanic knows that). They flew me down to there company. My recruiter said they were extremely impressed with me and wanted me down to meet them asap.

Unfortunately, the plant manager was not there. So I interview with the maintenance mechanic and his lead mechanic. I spent 5 hours there. Taking tests, etc. The HR Director wanted me there longer so we could go over important things like benefits, proposal.

Anyway, my tests score was sky high. The HR said I interview very well. The maintenance manager supposedly said he felt it would take me 6-12 months to learn a machine. Any mechanic knows it takes this long to fully understand how it runs, etc. I just don't get it.

Why are impractical clothes, lack of creative individual expression, & having a fun life deemed uuprofessional

Ie whats the big deal about a suit...

Can't go in the washing machine, shoes have no ankle support or grip, lack of pokets, over prices cant keep you cool or warm and the tie is designed to getting in you dinner or equipment.

Whats your hairstyle got to do with mending pipes, typing, fixing computers, or flying a plane?

Ie doing you job well

And surely if you can come up with creative origonal styles you can come up with creative, original ideas and be good at problem solving and quality work taking the same pride as your hair style.

Plus what does it matter if you come in with a hicky, or send love emails at work if not slowing down work?

Are not most in a couple and a healthy reltionship means less stress so better at work.

With dating collegues as how else to you get to know people and find them other then in nightclubs...

I had a temp job at an Ins Co. I asked my boss what he thought when he met me.

He said the following:. "I saw an experienced, confident, happy person. I say this because you come in with your head up and you just appear to have self-confidence. You are very easy to talk to and I felt at ease around you right away when I interviewed you for the first time. I liked that you were yourself...you knew your stuff, but you also were 'real' and 'genuine' and not phoney...you told it like it was and I liked that. However, that said, there are some people who would have interviewed you, and said 'no way'".

"The reason I say this is because some people would feel that you're too forward or too 'comfortable' too early with people. You kinda have to figure out the person and what you can say, etc. Does that make sense? Plus if you're interviewing with 'Ms. Prim and Proper', she may think you don't fit in".

I want a career again and need Help. Suggestions? Thank you!

I am a sophomore in college with an undecided major....I was going to go into Hospitality management but I had a job at a nice restaurant and hated the snobby people that came in and was turned away from that field.

Now i am finding that I cant find any major or career that interests me very much. Is a Resort owner to far fetched to be a dream job?

In life we find umpteen cases where you will find that while you derive fantastic satisfaction from your job you are having your primary ambition remaining unfulfilled which if pursued would have opened for you new vistas of career advancement. If, you are to compromise what type of analysis you should be doing? It is important that self development must be dynamic.

I am seventeen years old. I can work during the day Monday-Thursday, and work nights Wednesday-Sunday.

My prefrences are to not work in a fast food or in a grocery store.

I am considering a hostess job, but can you think of anything a little more creative, like a receptionist job? Where should I apply?
Is there any chance a car dealership or animal clinic will hire me?
