I am a sophomore in college with an undecided major....I was going to go into Hospitality management but I had a job at a nice restaurant and hated the snobby people that came in and was turned away from that field.

Now i am finding that I cant find any major or career that interests me very much. Is a Resort owner to far fetched to be a dream job?

Absolutely not.
However, you are talking about a lot of money that will be required to either buy one or start a new one.

You need to start somewhere.
Finish your degree.
Work at several resorts for several years while making contacts and learning more about the financial side of not just resorts, but business in general.
The snobby people that you encounter may be very good contacts to make for later in your career.
Good luck.

I am not a business owner, but I would say to get a job at the type of resort that you would like to own. That's the only way you will learn about the pros and cons. You have to really like working with the public (all kinds) to be successful running a resort.

If you like it, then your next hurdle would be to get the money to buy one!

Buy an old majestic home in a touristy town, fix it up and open a bed and breakfast. If that goes well, sell it and step up to something more. Slow and steady. Thats how it works.
Hope this helps.

My dream job is to sit around all day and watch Sports Center, wait that is what I do. Never mind.
