I am new to the area and business. Everyone says to make a list of everyone I know but I don't know anyone in this state and I already send my family and friends out of state business cards and talked to them. Door knocking is time consuming and I think there has to be a better way. Has anybody tried something that worked for them?

our hand book states that there is a 180 trail period and the employee has been ok for about 90 day. Come to find out today we ever the supervisor walks out of the run she talks trash. Like he has no balls or the person move stuff around and makes a joke that oh the supervisor is going to be mad about this. The other people in the office dont want to work with this person any more and I being the office manager doesnt even want to talk with her. The owner says that we are taking it personal about this employee and that is not a good enought reason to let her go. She is slow with work and doesnt do a clean job about it. She doesnt follow directions. We have not given a verbal or a write up to her just because she is such a pain to even talk to. It is a small company only 7 people there and it just sucks. She is a major kiss *** to the owner and he claim that he sees it but at the same time i think he likes it. How do I just get rid of her and make sure that the company is covered?

I work for an IT department in a big company and my teams supports all the server hardware in our datacenters. The server hold vital information and also run our company's internal and external webpages. I just got a new boss and he handed out little poster which he would like everyone to stick on their cubes. Basically the poster refers to the datacenters as sanctuaries and temples and to keep them holy and clean. Yeah, it doesn't say anything about specific religion, but I found his analogy strange and athiests in our group are more uncomforable with the situation. Is this strange?

What makes you view someone as "professional" as viewed in workplace? Would you say such attributes making someone seem professional can be learned at later stage in life?

I was never good at Math. I get nervous going to a class that deals with numbers. I get embarrased when were in groups and I'm the only one who doesn't know what to do. I go to college but still don't know most of my multiplication tables. Maybe because during elementary when my class was learning them I was always sent to ESL class, and I never got to catch up. Recently my Math Proffesor told me maybe I was in the wrong class, insulting but what can I do? Since I have to take math classes to get a degree, I'm thinking about just giving up.

When it comes to job searching, you have more choice if you don't limit yourself to your local area. How do employers manage brining in a candidate from out of town or out of state for an interview? Do they hire someone from out of town/state? (If I were an employer, I would prefer someone local unless a non-local is exceptionally qualified. If a local and a non-local were equally qualified, no doubt, I would definitely choose a local.)

If you were a job seeker going for a job out of town/state, how did you manage traveling for interview and re-location? Didn't you have to have some friend or relative in the area where job is at to be going for the job?

Historically I graduated from Highschool in Venezuela, then I traveled throught the world and spend a year abroad (In Germany). Right now is 5 month after that year was over and I'm back home. For this next 5 Years I got two chances of desition making. The first is that I can go back to europe to study in Klagenfurt University (South Austria). There I have to care of myself alone, both emotionaly and financially. That will last for at least 3 years till I graduated as a bachelor in Bussiness Administration. And also there traying to become a Olympic Biathlon Champion; training during free time. The second option is that I stay at home, practicing Rugby and making bussiness in a Network Company. That offers me a Financial Independence at the end of this year, so I can buy my own home and car.
