The person did not say that I am hired but that I would hear from the 1st person that interviewed me or the recruiter from the company in about a week.

That just means that are not qualified to hire you, if you have had two interviews, and you think that they went well, you will most likely hear from them, if it's a good job, they will call you back even to tell you that you are not hired. If you don't hear anything in a week call them, you will only look interested in the job.
