One of my friends told me that you cannot base salaries on evaluations. I doubted it but I thought I'd ask. The thing is that I worked at this job the exact same time as another friend and she is making a little more than I am now. The evaluation policy where I work is ridiculuously biased. What is the exact policies and what can I do to fight it if salaries cannot be based on evaluations?

They are going to do a background check. i have only one misdemeanor criminal offense and did not bring it up because they didnt ask about misdemeanors, only felonies.
When they find out about the misdemeanor, do you think they will consider me dishonest for not mentioning it.
Does that seem shady? I didnt lie, i was 100% honest.

Is there anybody that can help me out with the difference between a LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) and a RN (Registered Nurse). I already know that the LPN studys for about 1 to 2 years and the RN studys for about 3-4 years, and the RN supervises the LPN, what else can you tell me about the 2? Is it better to be a LPN and then go get your RN degree?

I have never been in trouble before and the conviction stems from something I did 5 years ago. Since that time, I have worked in accounting and finance, even obtaining my broker's license. I am in school pursuing a degree in Accountancy, but I need to know if I need to change my major because of this. If so, what other career avenues can I pursue with this type of felony on my record? I dont want a job....I want a career, and I dont believe I should be punished for the rest of my life for one mistake. Can someone please give me some advice on career options? I need to make a decision soon, because i am pretty sure I am going to have to change my major. I thought about becoming a court stenographer, but I dont know if that is viable either. Nursing is practically out, I wanted to be a radiology tech. Please give me some good advice on which way to turn

I got my last job by applying by mail. I think that for some jobs its better to send a resume and cover letter in a large envelope. My last employer was a school board and I knew that they were highly sought after so only a crisp resume and cover letter in envelope would do. I have no problems going in person if this is the better way. I knew it was before. I guess it depends on the job - I still need some ideas and information here.

Hey everyone,

I just quit my job at a bank, because my manager was giving me problems. I worked very hard, but he just took all the credit and he never helped me. BUT, should I get him in trouble or not? He is all over his assistant....They touch each other when the customers leave. I have also caught him with his assistant at the lake the other day. I could tell his girlfriend.
I could also tell the president of the bank how they touch each other and was actually caught by the bank cameras SEVERAL times.
Should I just leave his *** alone or get him?

I went through Volt last summer and got a nice little job mailing invoices. A friend of mine once got something where she was tagging things in some Nordstrom factory. No real luck with them this summer and the only other agency I've been able to find has been Labor Ready (sket-chy). Right now I'm in the middle of a search for a real job, but I need to make a little money in the meantime. I just want something for a couple of weeks, somewhere I don't really have to interact with customers. Any ideas for where I can go?

an interview opportunity?? I've been hoping to work for that organization since senior high. I recently just got my MA and found the org's recruiting entry-level employees. For one job they offered, I really think I could be a nice fit-in.. I therefore sent them my resume, and an autoreply message told me to wait. It's been 2 wks now, and I feel my chance's getting slimmer; yet I don't want to just give up. I feel a strong desire to reach someone real -- can I write to its VP?

I have a BA in Communications--in '95. But I have taken low, secretarial type jobs for most of my life. I keep being told I can get a better job. I am working as a legal assistant. It feels like I'm stuck in this world. Is it low self-esteem, lack of motivation?

I'm 15 and I have an interview with Chick-Fil-A Thursday for a team member position. Now I was going to wear Jeans and a nice button down shirt, however my mother says quote " I wouldn't hire anyone that showed up in jeans" and she suggests I wear black pants.

Do you think that black pants would be over doing it for a Chick-Fil-A (fast food resturant) interview, or do you think my mom is in the right?

It was the most unprofessional display I have ever seen in my 21 years in the work force! I had to listen to it for 8 hours before my supervisor even got there! You can just imagine how stressed out I was! It caused me to make mistakes because I was upset at having been spoken to in such a shabby way...I only have like 2 or 3 more weeks there but I think of the people I leave behind. Cussed him out right there in front of customers like he was nothing but a dirty dog!

Help! My daughter needs a job in a Human Resources, (HR) related field. She is a recent college grad, MBA-with a special emphasis in HR. She is in her early 20's intelligent and a hard worker. She presently resides in NYC-and is looking to work for an agency where people;enjoy working, as well as enjoy working together, and, to work without people who are against each other, and last but not least, with a supervisor or director is is willing to work with the employees and not against- in an effort to meet the goal and mission of the agency. If anyone or any agency can assist, it will be appreciated. Thanks!

I was hired (haven't started yet) but am planning to get pregnant ASAP. I haven't decided yet what I will do once I do get pregnant. Should I discuss this with the employer out of respect for them or not? I would feel bad if it happened a month from start date. Any experience/advice on your part?

I am not sure if this is an accountant, since it would only require taking the information from the accountant and analyzing it and making projections and cute charts and presentations about how the company can save money.
