I'm 15 and I have an interview with Chick-Fil-A Thursday for a team member position. Now I was going to wear Jeans and a nice button down shirt, however my mother says quote " I wouldn't hire anyone that showed up in jeans" and she suggests I wear black pants.

Do you think that black pants would be over doing it for a Chick-Fil-A (fast food resturant) interview, or do you think my mom is in the right?

Coming from my point of view, your mom is right. . . going to an interview in jeans and a tee-shirt just sets the wrong tone from the start. I know that this is probably not going to be the job you retire from; however, it is still important to make a good impression with your manager. Dark pants and a nice button down shirt are fine, no tie for that job. . . make sure you have a pen and small notepad, and please turn your cell phone off. Keep jewlery to a minimum. ie: no dangle earrings for girls, no earrings period for guys, facial piercings need to come out. Don't get too crazy with your hair either. A watch is ok so long as its not huge or gaudy, and that's about it. I'm sure I answered more than your question, but good luck!!

I was watching a news show on night and they talked about this very thing. They said to dress the part for the type of job you are applying for. Ex: you would not show up for an interview for a mechanics job in a black suit and tie. However, in this case your mom could be right. A pair of black pants with a nice pull over shirt would probably be the thing to wear. You may be only 15 but you are beginning to go out into the world of man eat man, get it anyway you can. You need to be the best, look the best, and do the best job. Good luck!

Go with the black pants. Trust me, I've had a wide range of jobs and been in charge of hiring people at a bar/nightclub and it will make a good first impression for any job. Never wear jeans for any job interview and always wear a button down shirt. Wearing a tie depends on the type of job your applying for. It's just a good rule of thumb.

Always listen to your mother. She will be right most of the time.

Chick-Fil-A is a very conservative company, but a good one to work for, and caters to high schoolers.

Looking nice shows that you are seriously interested in the job. I know most 15 year olds wear jeans daily, but make an exception for the interview.

Go with your mum's advice. I always wear black pants to an interview. Or a black, knee length skirt and a button down shirt.

I agree with Mom. It can't hurt.

Good luck with the job interview, and when you are grown with a real job, you can look back on your days at Chick-Fil-A and see the value of an education.

it's a fast food restaurant, take a shower and wear clean cloths, there's no need to wear a suit and tie, jeans and button down shirt are fine
