i need money but I'm too young for most jobs out there. I'm on summer break and I was wondering if there is a job I could find so i could work during the summer and after school. So when school starts I don't have to quit, I just work less hours.

I am a registered nurse with a huge medical surgical background. He would like to retire and get a job on a cruise ship as some kind of pyon, and he thinks I can get a job on the same ship as a nurse. Do cruise ships have nurses, and what is the likelihood I can get a nursing job on a cruise ship? He is 13 years older than me and knows I will continue working no matter what he does.

Alright, I have been re-hired from my job that I left 2 years ago.
They contacted me and after negoitiating with them on wager and schedule, they hired me as they need my help.

Now durng the interview and paperwork - I had my piercing on and they didn't care. They did not tell me anythign about it.
Also note, my friend who has been working there for 2 years since I was gone has been working with a lip ring.

Now 10 days into the job, they are telling us both to remove it.
the excuse - "new policy"....
Both the manager and general manager don't care however this lady who has hated me from the last time is on my case and she is ruthless to everyone but the owner.
Now I spoke to the owner and he said to try my best, get a smaller labret or skin tone.. I did..I met our agreement.
The lady is now on my case again and the owner of the restuarent wont defend me now.

What right do I have?
how do I challenge this "new policy" which I think is total lie?
she simply hates me 4 personal reason.

Two weeks ago, I sent in a letter of resignation to my work place. An hour later I received a call from our CEO pleading with me to return. When asked why I sent in my letter, I simply stated that I didn't feel I was respected and a few of the people I work with are disrespectful to me as a worker and our company policy. She was very symathetic and told me of how she had felt the same way. She said I was an excellent employee and the company would be hurt- so I restracted the resignation verbally. I have returned. My co-workers are unaware of what happened. Everything seems to be going well. But for some reason, I feel that in going through all this I have made myself vulnerable.. to what I don't know. I guess I should feel more secure with my job but I don't (about the same as before) although the CEO is very nice to me which is a bit unusual. Should I be worried? Or am I okay? Now that things have changed a bit, I would like to stay..

I applied for an internet job with Americare Health Plan Inc. Everything seems to be okay except they want me to send a copy of my SSN card. I don't feel comfortable with that so I was wondering if this company is a huge scam or if it is a well known company.

I have a two year degree in elctrical and mechanical maintenance. I like my current job a lot, but I'm concerned that over the next few years jobs in this field will become fewer and fewer with the current loss rate of manufacturing jobs . I am very diversified in my skills; mechanics, pnuematics, hydraulics, electrical, machining, PLC's and CNC's. .

Is this career going to be worth investing further training in the years to come? Would specialized certifications, such as ISA"s CIMM, IFPS's CFPPM, or electronics training be beneficial or should I just start training in another field? Because I work a rotating shift engineering and engineering technology, although the most likely choices, are out of the question. I have an interest in a computer career, but would this too be a dead end field in the years to come?

Thanks in advance for your USEFUL advise and comments.

I am a college student who HAD a part-time job. I started working at this professional place 2 months ago. This week the employer pulled me to the side and told me that they felt I was not 100% reliable, and thus "let me go." The reasons they said were that because my friends party and do drugs, and my boyfriend does, and that they will pull me into a hole. They said that they are afraid I will take a nose-dive and that they cannot take the risk, and that my social life has pushed the limit.

The only way they knew this was that my coworker (who I idiotically told my personal life too) told them about my social life.

Was this a just reason for dismissal?

I was downsized (along with 10,000 of my co-workers) in 2002, after being with AT&T for 14 years. I know people who worked for AT&T for 28 years and were downsized.

Since the downsizing (my second with the company), my wages have dropped 50% and the company I work for is the worst place I've ever worked. People are leaving in droves, but I haven't been able to find another great job with decent pay.

Sometimes it really gets me down. I'm a union person, but, when it comes to layoffs, when you're in a union, you're just a number on a layoff list. Sometimes I feel like I'll never make good money and have a job I love again. I'm 54 years old and the clock is ticking. No jerk answers, please.

Just graduarte from a college, seeking the job that close to my major which is Economics. it's hard to find a job, blow-up a few times during the interview. Maybe the English is not fluent enough, those interviewers qiuckly turn you down just by talking with you. they don't care about your ability but you communication kills only. Is there anywhere I ca find a job that don't need to be so strictly about speech. I live in San Jose.
