A felony conviction is something that would show on a background check, but most applications ask if you've been convicted within the past 7 years. This means your conviction may be beyond the application background check period they're interested in. If so, then your chances are much better.

If not, then they'll look at your behavior and work history since the conviction. If you've stayed clean and have a good employment history, then you'd still be in the running.

But be aware that there's still a prejudice against felons. And robbery is a very bad thing! What company wants to expose themselves to someone who might steal from them? But if you've proven you've learned from your experience and have improved yourself, then you do have a shot.

And graduate school is a really good way to show that you're bettering yourself!

You may need to consult with a lawyer for the possibility of a pardon. With a pardon, you cannot be asked about that criminal offence.
