If you have been unemployed for over 4 months what is the best way to get a job?

I hate to say the typical answer. But keep trying, keep searching, the right position will turn up. I relocated to a different State and it took exactly that 4 months to find something that I wanted to do, not just a job for the sake of making some money.

Earn a living, and hopefully enjoy what you do.

Trust me, the right job opportunity will happen for you. Don't give up.

Do prepare a good resume and send post them on job portals such as monster, careerbuilder and so forth.you will need to justify the reason why you had been unemployed for the last few months..the reason has to be factual and at the same time not an excuse for not being unemployed. for example if you had decided to take a vacation of 4 months to rejuvenate yourself that is fine however you will need to give a gist of what type of extra curricular activities you were involved during this period may be say trekking, or mountain climbing or what ever.

besides the portals you may watch classifieds and seek opportunities that are know to your friends, former colleagues etc.

If you are part of a B-school you may put up your case for the alumni of your school to know and something may crop up
