I don't exactly have a lot of experience, but I would think that would depend on a lot of factors. What area you're working at, if you're working on middle class homes, upper class homes, the rich of the rich...and if you have a degree that lends itself to that kind of thing (I'm sure there are universities that offer degrees in interior design. Otherwise art, culture, etc.) .
I'd suggest getting a better idea if you want to do it on a small scale (no degree, middle class) or large scale (a degree, upper or rich class houses).

It depends on the area and what field they are working in. Here where I live (VA) interior designers at the furniture stores make about 40000 a year, but if you own your own company then you could make more or less. It just really depends on where you live.
