I received my credit report from all 3 agencies and the only delinquency listed is from an old checking account I had with Synovus Bank in 2005. What is confusing me is that on two of the reports it is listed as Amsher Collections Services/Synovus Bank and on the third report it is listed as simply Synovus Bank.

My first question is who should I contact regarding this...Amsher or Synovus?

Second, can someone give me a link to a good letter I could send to the creditor for validation of the debt?

Thank you all in advance.

I'm buying a house. Our lender is quoting us 5.875%, which is a good rate, but it was 5.75% a week ago. We close on Jan 31st. Should I hold off an see if the rate goes lower or lock in now?

my friend pays child support, and his ex does not work and receives public assistance. how can she have someone else claim the kids? shouldn't he be the one claiming them since she doesn't work and he is responsible for more than half of their support? can a magistrate put in the child support order that the father can claim the children? or does the mother have to agree? is she legally entitled to have someone claim them since she receives public assistance? thanks in advance!!

I currently have 29.5 years left of my 30 mortgage at a rate of 6.5% and was considering adding about 3k a year extra towards my principle. Some people say its good/bad to add extra? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Whenever I talk to a customer service rep for some business they either have no authority to correct problems or just talk to you without resolving anything. So what is the purpose of customer service when problems occur? just to give people jobs? Sorry if this question seems full of anger but why is it that banks when they correct your overdraft fees that only happend 2 times seem to threaten you in some way or form like dont come here again with this problem or Im going to take back or not give the credit you were offered. Sigh

In order for an auditor to express his opinion on the sales figures of a typical trading company, normally a few type audit tests will be need to carry out for supporting the validity and whether it is in accordance with acceptable accounting practice.

The standard audit method/test for this normally will be sales system and cut off test.

However, I recently heard about an audit method called matching test.

Can anyone able to describe the procedures and its significant compared with the conventional method.

Thank You.

I'm kind of new to this, I opened an account with scottrade to buy/sell stocks. I deposited $225 and kind of left it there for now. I just got a voicemail from scottrade saying that I've selected on my application that I want to backup holdings from the IRS and he said I need to contact him and let him know that I've done that or they might need to take taxes out. What does this mean?

If you buy a condo, rather than a SF home, do you still pay property taxes to the county every year? If not, how much more would the yearly maintenance fee in an average nice condo complex be, compared to property taxes for a home appraised at about the same value? What about all the benefits included with the condo like pest control, security, laundry accomodations, outside lighting, etc. - would the value of those add up to the difference or close to it?
Thanks for any insight. I lost my husband 4 weeks ago, almost immediately after we made our final payment on our mortgage and owned our house free and clear. It was unexpected and I will be selling our house and moving to Jacksonville (I currently live in Central Florida) to live near family members there and am just now starting to consider what type of home I will want.

If someone does not want a social security number anymore, so they dont have to pay a tax that they cant afford to pay (i gotta save to open up my business, and Social Security is something I dont think I should have to pay, because 1. I wont see the money. 2. If i am going to see the money, i kinda need it right now.... and since it is my money.... i should have full say over it, rather than someone else telling me what i will do with it.. since i worked for it =).

So... how do i disolve my Social Security Number?
