But I dont have my W2's in hand....I know the w2 shows the state and city withholding....but there is a form that can be used in place of a W2 if it cannot be retrieved from the employer....

How would I calculate how much state and city taxes were taken if I cannot find the w2

I recently got my paycheck and checked the hrs. I knew I was going to have at least 1 hr of overtime. The printed timesheet that we sign said 77.45hrs. Thats not including 4hrs vacation time for half day of work.... Today recieved my check and the hrs were
75.45hrs + 0.22OT hrs + 4.00hrs holiday = 80.07 Gross Pay
Add them up and its..79.67hrs

Clerical error or adjusted. Im going to copy my timesheet on the next paycheck to verify my next one with OT. I will have a few hrs OT for sure.

The week before Christmas I was layed off from a job i have had for over 2 years, working at a hot tub store. I liked this job and it payed me well. ($9/hr) Recently the company has not been making much money. As a result, i was only working 2-3 days a week. WHich was tough because i have truck payments as well as insurance and cell phone bills and obviouslly gas. The week before christmas, i walked in and they said today is your last day, we are not making enough monay and have to lay you off. After 2 days they called me at home and said they would like me to be "on call" , so i would come in and work when it accommodated them. They said they will try and get me to work 1 day a week, which i believe would be enough to stop me from applying for unemployment. But i applied for unemployment anyway. I will be a full time student starting in the middle of january and can get a job in the spring(pool store) But i am not sure of what i can do until then. Any suggestions? Thank you

Can I write off the mortgage interest and the property taxes paid for my second property which is a rental property for tax benifits.
Both the properties are located in california.
I also own an investment property outside california. Can I also write off the interest payment for that property.

Here is the website, I have gotten a lot of these however I know it takes money to make money and their start up one time fee is only $47.00, but the lingering question for me is how does someone make money off of doing this and why do they tell you such high numbers of money you could make, I mean what average Joe even wants to make $1,000.00 a day? I am just asking because I really do need to find a computer online job or a work from home type job and it seems like they are all bull-crap. There absolutely has to be something out there that is legit. Could someone please help me and maybe send me some legit companies to look at or give me some tips on how I can really work from home, earning regular pay. PLEASE HELP ME AND CHECK OUT THIS WEBSITE I WAS CONTACTED BY!!! Thank you Yahoo Answers Friends!!!

We own a vacant house that is on the market. We let a guy stay there for a couple of months rent free for doing some very minor yard work that took two days. Now, he's partying there and having known dope guys over at all hours, stolen vehicle in the driveway. You can imagine... Broke a window and just generally slapped us in the face with his lack of appreciation. We just wanted to do the guy a favor for a short time. Well, it is obviously time he gets OUT before any more damage is done. There was no papers signed as it wasn't a rental agreement, more like a short term favor. Anyone know how to approach this the most effective way? We warned him a month ago to get out, he's got one week left. I want to be prepared? Thanks, appreciate all advice!

Since my husband and I own an electrical contracting company, I not only work outside of the home full time, but also do our books, payroll...etc. We know have 8 employees (full time) and around 17 builders. How can I figure if we have enough for me to stay at home? We have just built a new house and are closing on our old one Jan 15th, so we will be able to pay off that mortgage along with a car payment. I think all we will be left with will be my husband's truck payment, our new mortgage and a tractor payment. I know to make a list of bills..etc, but what is the ratio/ debt/income formula they say use?

Oh and I will lose insurance on me and my husband, but I can get it through our business, while I get it on my employees. So what can I do?

There's a local paper looking for journalists. I have a little expierence with a different local paper that's distributed monthly....I've done 3 articles for them. Anyway, this new paper is on a much larger scale but I want to get in so badly. My question is do I show up with my resume/cover letter/writing samples when I know the managing editor is going to be there and ask to give it to him directly? Or do I submit it via email the way the help wanted ad said? I only ask because its a journalism position, so I feel like being bold and showing up there would show my capability. Which do I do?

I was just wondering if someone from HR or Personnel could help me out. I went to an interview with a staffing agency and they said they were going to submit my application to see if there would be a potential interview. They advised me that they would call me either way, it's been a couple days and no call yet. I was wondering could it be the company that is taking so long to respond? I also sent out a few resumes before Christmas and was told before that the best hiring times for companies is usually in January, is that true?

They are making everyone reapply but apparently the old company already has a "black list" of people that will not even be considered. Thoughts and ideas appreciated.

I am a Stay-at-Home Mom and I need to go back to work because my family really needs the extra income. However, I have 4-year gap in my employment. It seems as though employers view this as the equivalent to having the plague. Because my children are ages 11, 7, and 5, I am looking for something flexible (and preferably part-time). I need something that I can bring home at least $200-$300 per week. I have six years of college and I am 3 tri-mesters short of my bachelors. I have plenty of work place experience, but employers seem to overlook all of this. Any suggestions for overcoming the resume gap or any suggestions for good employers?

Also, any suggestions on how to explain this to a potential employer? I am always uncomfortable saying I am a Stay-at-Home Mom, because I am just sure that this will be all they hear and judge me solely on this. I spoke to someone the other day & in the course of a 15 minute conversation I was asked 3 times "so, you haven't worked in four years?"
