So right now my aunt is in quite a difficult situation. Her husband took out a 100k loan a few years ago claiming that it would be spent to fund his children's college tuitions, but now it's all gone and he can't even pay for his son's community college classes. He's also in huge financial trouble right now... One of his cars was recently towed away at night because he had failed to make the payments for the past 4 months, and now he can't even pay his $20 phone bill. My aunt has a feeling that he gambled it all away, but she has no proof of this. So is there a legal way she can find out how he spent the money? Like can she hire some kind of accounting investigator to see where it all went?

I worked for a vet. A female puppy comes in odorous, covered in urine due to tape around her legs. I washed her in some nice smelling shampoo. As the Doctor retapes her legs, I made the comment: "Now you smell like a women". The next day, Im fired for sexual harassment. The Dr was offended by the comment. Granted there is more to the story, alot of drauma, but im just asking about the comment.

Hi guys i have this economics question and i just need a second opinion. "how would a federal income-tax cut affect our current economy? (Be sure to consider both negative and positive aspects of a tax cut.)"

Positive - More money for people
- would encourage business growth
- with more businesses more people employed...??

Negatives - Might cause inflation if demand exceeds supply

Thats all i can think off, i think they are all right, but can anyone tell me if they are correct and add a few more as well. I really need a couple more for the negatives.

Thanks!

I just received the summons and complaint from a Law firm, debt that I could not pay to Discover. I have no job , and The amount of the principal may be around $750. They are sued me for $2330.54. I have 21 days to file an answer with the court or take other lawful action with the court. What does that mean?
1)Should I write a letter to my creditor ( Discover..?Or the Law firm?)
2) What should I say on this letter..my offer (for instance $700 paid in full..?or something around that amount?) or shouls I say something else?
3) What are my options (I understand that if I go to court I will end up paying court fees)

One of my co-workers received a write up she doesn't agree with and she refused to sign it. HR told her she is required to sign it and if she doesn't she would be immediately terminated. In all my years of working I have NEVER heard such a thing. Please, if possible provide a website stating the fact if at all possible . I live in Illinois

To my limited knowledge, Canadian housing market has been a "safe bet" for at least a decade. With the U.S. housing market on a downturn, would you buy a residential property for your personal use in early 2008?

I moved into a retail strip. My lease specifies that I am responsible for any indoor electrical repairs/problems. Everything was working fine when I moved in and still is. The thing is that I recently had to have my boyfriend who is a construction contractor replace a fallen ceiling tile. When he looked in the ceiling above the tiles. He said that the wiring was horrible and none of it was up to code. He said if there was an electrical inspection it would fail. I did not check above the ceiling when I moved in and didn't think to since everything worked and another business had just moved out (because her husband in the army was transferred). My question is if some electrical work needs to be done that requires rewiring since it is not up to code, am I or the landlord responsible?

I'm paying down all of my balances on my credit cards and 1 charges a $6 monthly fee and 1 charges an annual fee of $30 I think. The 1 that charges the monthly fee has the highest limit and the 1 that charges the annual fee has a very low interest. It seems like the cards with the highest interest have the highest limits. I still have other cards that have lower interest and their limits are lower. Should I still close those cards out after I get my condo?? My counselor told me not to close them now cause it will hurt my score..

I was told that I am preapproved for a VA loan by my loan officer. However, he says that due to the fact that I have some open (deliquent) accounts in collections (old medical bills) it may affect me being approved. I have been current on all my bills for the past few years. These medical bills are a least two years old some 4 or 5 but they collection agencies keep updating them on my credit repot. I was always told to just wait the 7 years out. One is 3,500 and others 1,500 a piece. Will this hurt my chances of getting approved? He suggested that I pay them off. Will this help? I thought VA looked at FICA scores which is like 670 and debt and income which are both good. Is it that easy to get pre-approved?

I noticed that alot of people are sending out false information about 1099s and the amount owed on foreclosures after it sells for less. If you're unaware, George Bush passed a law on December 20th that was on the front page of almost every paper stating that debt owed on a short sale or a foreclosure and a 1099 will not be owed because of the housing crisis until December 31, 2009. Tell me if I'm wrong, positive answers only please.

I was looking for ways to increase my credit score on Bank of America Privacy assist (it tells you how to improve your credit), and it said that if I pay off my 4 delinquent accounts (which add up to about $1,020) it will decrease my credit score by 20 points.

Why would paying off acounts decrease my score?

Well, I'm 13, going to be 14 in about a week. I want to know how I can just start collecting money over time and I'm not talking about jobs like babysitting or raking lawns. I do chores, but I don't get an allowance. I want something I can do like after school and on my spare time. Currently I just turn in bottle caps online, pick up any loose change I find on the ground, and sweepstakes I'm able to do. Please don't mention filling out surveys because I tried that and I got a lot of spam mail that I can't get rid of. Thanks in advance.
